That's funny because I just sold $100 worth of trash that cost me close to nothing (rare media so bought in bulk and probably paid pennies). Yesterday I flogged $534 out the door and at least $400 was profit. Tomorrow I'm picking up a big sexy stack of sealed tabletop gaming sets and miscellaneous collectibles from an auction I won last week. I should net over $1k. Tonight I have a giant stack of PSA slabs to scan. Hoping to hit break even on those orders within a few weeks. Then I'll have another four figures worth of inventory that will cash flow over time. You just pick something that obviously has value like coins and jewelry, high-end electronics, rare comic books, whatever and then apply the 80/20 rule. Once you understand the basics you have to come up with strategies that your competitors aren't using, which is the fun part. Most youtube mouthbreathers are stuck in this everything seller vs niche seller mindset, but if you become an every niche seller you can run circles around everyone. then it just becomes a cash flow and logistics management operation.

Majority of local auctioneers are lazy and have volume based business models. Some are absurdly incompetent, since the business is basically one step up from junk removal.If you focus on smalls you're not even geographically limited. I buy watches, jewelry, media, and cards from all over the country and make money. If all else fails you can find a new auctioneer with no clientele and then just move on to the next one once they gain traction and stuff starts getting bid higher.

Thrift stores are cooked, you need to make connections with wholesalers who go to these stores. Buy in mass bulk and sell individual. The only problem with selling used items is theres a lot of one off items, they have good profit margins but its hard to get a significant quantity. So you can make 10000% roi but its not like you can order 1000 of these units from china.
