Making it out your own as a lawyer is a meme - the field is obscenely oversaturated because of the sheer amounts of law grads pumped out every year.In order to have any hope of a positive expected value in law (not guaranteed, we’ll get to that), you need to do all of:1. Do extremely well in undergrad in a good program or have solid expertise in a unique or white collar field2. Get a 170+ lsat score (higher if you did worse at (1))3. Get accepted to a T14 law school, as a JD from anything below that is worth less than potty paper (with AI this will be T6 in a couple years)4. Land an internship at a prestigious big law firm5. Translate your internship experience to a full time offer at a prestige big law firm6. Grind for 70+ hours a week for the next 4 years doing exhausting bullshit work>break-even point of money/opportunity cost7. Stay on partner track or go in-house at a comfier firmThis will take you a decade or more and you will probably wash out before it’s worth it. You seem pretty fucking stupid, so 99% chance if you do this you’ll be wagecucking in some shitty small boomer firm or gov office and realize you went into debt to do worse than you are right now.
