Is buying whatever new shitcoin that shows up in Coinbase and selling 20 minutes later a profitable strategy?
>>
If by profit you mean 12$ then yes

Why is /biz/ so averse to learning TA and resorting to gambling? Fucking dopamine addicts.

Technical analysis reads price and volume to estimate probability, not certainty.

Core idea. Price already reflects known information. Price moves in trends. Patterns repeat because human behaviour repeats.

Trend. An uptrend is higher highs and higher lows. A downtrend is lower highs and lower lows. Sideways is neither. Trade with the trend on your timeframe, and check one higher timeframe for context.

Support and resistance. Levels where price previously reversed. Broken resistance often becomes support and the reverse. More touches and more volume mean a more meaningful level.

Candles. Each shows open, high, low, close. Long wicks show rejection. Close near the high shows buyers in control.

Volume. Confirms moves. A breakout on heavy volume is more credible than one on light volume. Falling volume in a trend warns of exhaustion.

Moving averages. An average of recent closes that smooths noise. The 50 and 200 period are widely watched. Price above a rising average suggests strength. Crossovers lag by design.

Momentum. RSI measures speed of gains versus losses on a 0 to 100 scale. Above 70 is stretched, below 30 is depressed, but strong trends stay stretched for a long time. Divergence, where price makes a new high but momentum does not, warns of fading strength. MACD compares two averages to show momentum shifts.

Volatility. Bollinger Bands widen when volatility rises and contract before large moves. ATR measures average range and is used to size stops.

Patterns. Ranges, triangles, flags and wedges mostly continue the prior trend. Double tops, double bottoms and head and shoulders often reverse it. Wait for a close beyond the boundary rather than guessing.

Practice. Decide entry, stop and target before you enter. Risk a small fixed fraction per trade. Aim for reward larger than risk. Keep a journal.

Limits. Signals fail often. Indicators lag. Risk management, not prediction, is what keeps you solvent.

Imagine doing all that instead daily buying Bitcoin.

Crypto whales counter TA CONSTANTLY. Just when you say see a double or triple top and the dump isn't nearly complete, incomes the green dildo of doom. Or it's a beautiful chart but as soon as you buy, the bots counter trade and incomes the leviathan sized red dildo.
