Fed has to maintain the appearance that they’re keeping inflation to 2%. Warsh works for bankers, and believe it or not, bankers are more powerful than Trump.

The job of the Federal Reserve is to protect fractional reserve banking. Always has been. The worst thing that can happen to the banks is an inflationary collapse of the currency. MUCH better for them to have a massive depression. Ultimately, the government's profligate spending will create a conflict with the Fed that will be resolved by the government printing money directly.
