what if Trump/Bessent brought in like kind of circuit breakers for prices of various things eg fuel? If they go too high then then this triggers a mandatory cooling off period to stop it going too high or low. This would help keep prices fair while keeping it free market and business-friendly
This is just another form of price control. Commodities can't be indefinitely price controlled at this scale. It always leads to shortages, and the market will have its pound of flesh one way or the other.
