Lost $30k of the $100k I'd saved up over the past 8 years working. Fell for the AI stock meme. How do I recover

Bought into optics in June. Sold before it really bottomed and have just been sitting in cash the past month or two reexamining my lack of investing abilities.

You put all your 100k into one specific investment thesis when you are a newbie?
You deserve it.

Did you buy the top of Sandisk or something? Most of us here (at least 80%) have bought 2021 tops and lost 50-90% of everything we've had, it's just that 99% of us don't want to admit it out loud from sheer embarrassment. All I'm saying is you're not alone in your struggle

If you find a way to do it let me know, I'm already checking coinmarketcap like a desperate bitch
At this rate, I'll end up putting everything into some shitty trump stuff, flip.gg, or some other shitcoin before the month is over, AI was never the future, it was just another fucking bad decision I didn't have to make

You were able to buy at any price and hold until about June 10 of this year. Now, you have to buy at resistance-levels on dips and sell/RUN when at resistance levels on pumps, like today, but we may be surprised and Sandisk/Micron manage to get the support needed to maintain $1600/$1000 (respectively) and go higher. The next resistance for Sandisk is $1800 after that. Yesterday was a good opportunity to load up, even though logic would dictate to not touch Sandisk unless it goes back to $1400, and only cautiously, it appears it randomly got support at $1500. The ability to not hold too long is a very difficult, high-skill one. I nearly lost nearly all my gains that day in June, going from 118% gains to just 30%.

Sometimes I really wish the worst for all of you. I mean this in the most fucking horrendous way possible. For example, I hope the next big bullshit thing similar to NFTs pops up. Most people know it's obviously a retarded scam, but you guys are special and obviously fall for it. May you all go belly up and may it be your biggest failure in life.

Keep buying assets, buy a shit load of all reasonable sectors of equities and rebalance quarterly. Reasonable here meaning schizo doomer and short the American Empire as it was and the human race. Hedge with metals, cash hysa even bonds though I personally avoid them. If you had held energy, mining, AI, weapons manufacturers, royalty companies, infrastructure, construction and associated equipment over 8 years then you'd wouldn't care if and when one of them shits the bed you'd have multiple holdings in the green over most of that enough to compensate. Rich people never lose because they own 90% of everything. This is in effect what you get from buying the market wide etfs but you get a lot of slop in the mix that doesn't deserve to live and that is what makes hyper consolidating on one thing so appealing. By doing this you will always underperform a perfect trend trader, someone who timed AI just right.

But you avoid needing to get everything right by hedging in this way and can still avoid the companies that are going to struggle in the coming troubles, I'm not buying consumer defensives in any significant quantity because people are fucking broke and until the crack up boom affects wages these companies will struggle in earnings. People do buy pharmacueticals regardless of economic conditions because they don't want to die and half of that is boomer money. Hopefully you understand what I mean by shorting the human race, like I'm pretty up on WEAT right now and wish I had bought more because I am betting on structural famine via staple grains. Even if that fails cause of "financial engineering" I have money spread over some many stocks its hard to manage.

Thus the cons are low exposure to you're winners and buying stocks like a poorfag and missing out on the 50-1400% upswings because I bought 75$ of something intending to buy biweekly for months instead of going all in with $7500

When that happens its hard to escape your greed but also I took profits way too fucking early on many stocks like KTOS and Rheinmetal so you'll always fuck yourself a little.

Also its hard to keep track of developements on every stock. I have a few I've bag held for years because one shit event put me under and Warren Buffet used to just hold shit forever until they turned green.

Identify in these turbulent times value plays that cannot really die knowing that everything is going to be in a footrace against inflation in your lifetime. If they really do a financial reset you would also have put a noninsignificant amount in Gold and Silver to keep yourself from anheroing or starving to death.

I also buy shit like water filters and antibiotics, extra cases of ammunition because you can play life like a RE trader if supply chains break down hard again. I could have easily flipped 9mm at a hefty profit back in 2020-2021 but was a poorfag. I flipped a little back then and some medical/sanitation but mostly to people I knew personally with only a modest markup when shelves were empty. If it happens now I am ready, not really for calamity but from reasonable profiting off of insecurity and china making everything. Don't really recommend it but for all the "you can't eat gold" its possible to hedge in hard goods with inelastic and long distance supply.
