YGLD used to be 1.5x then used options income to increase your compounding but it changed its strategy this month.Potentially, you can compound your gold at a multiple. Or you can lose gold at a multiple depending on if gold is doing well or poorly.It's not just like owning regular gold ounces. If you buy gold, you have a fixed amount and you always have that fixed amount and its value either increases or decreaseswith YLGD, potentially, you can end up with effectively more gold per share than you started with. If gold runs up 100%, and the fund is leveraged at 2x for most of that, then gold corrects 50% but it's closer to 1x leverage most of that, then you'll "have" more gold than you started with at the bottom of that 50% correction. Repeat that, but with smaller movements, it's like a compounding machine.this all depends on if gold is bullish on the long term. if it's bearish over the long term, you're going to lose more with leverage.
