2024 Rolex Explorer 12025 Rolex GMT Master II "Bruce Wayne" on Oyster bracelet2026 Rolex Datejust "Green Ombre" fluted bezel on Jubilee bracelet2026 Grand Seiko "Snowflake"The snowflake and explorer I switch off between as white/black dial daily beaters depending on what I'm wearing. GMT for business travel, Datejust when I want something a little flashier. Where should I take my collection from here? Dress watch, diver, chronograph, something else? I'm currently looking at the JLC Reverso Duoface Tribute, the Bluesy, and some Vacheron options. Daytona is a little out of my comfort range for a new watch purchase. Does anyone here collect watches? As a hobby, for status, as an investment?
I have a pacman watch I won in a claw machine 8 years ago.
>>62702355this watch>costs $17>is extremely accurate>makes a fashion statement>can be taken swimming, hell even light scuba diving>will not get you robbedso why in fuck would i want a rolex?
>>62702360>>62702430do goyim really
>>62702443it's much more jewish to wear a casio and invest your money tbf
>>62702355The grand seiko is nicer isn’t it…come on, don’t lie…those industrious little nips can polish the fuck out of a watch
>>62702355It's fun as a hobby, kind of a dumb investment though. I don't have anything expensive but I like Seikos, Citizens, and Vostoks. It's a lot of fun.
I was gonna buy a bluesy, I can afford but it hit me that at the time the price was like $18k, I just couldn’t justify buying a watch at that pricethat’s about it. maybe I revisit it one day but I probably won’t
>>62702461yes/noit's a very nice dailyI bought it because I do a lot of business in Japan and it's nice to wear to meetings with Japanese. I bought it for a great price in Japanthe dial is beautiful and nicer than the explorer dial I'd contrast it againsthowever the bracelet sucks, it just doesit should wear more comfortably because titanium is lighter than steel, but the bracelet is a pretty big downgradeand the zaratsu polish gets smudged super easilyit's great value for a watchif you're looking for your first watch you can't go wrong with either an explorer or a GSGS's catalog is limited though, there's not a lot of true heaters. Rolex has a heater in every category of watch, and invented a lot of themSeiko can claim to inventing the wrist watch itself though so there's that
A lot of countries customs agencies have resorted to hiring people with 20+ years of experience at authorized dealers due to the high volume of watches coming in, and even they have to pull most of the watches apart to find out if they are fake or not, because the quality of chinese fakes has shot through the roof over the past 5 years. So any time you see a rolex, AP or patek on somebody's wrist, you can assume it's a fake like 90% of the time. Most people are aware of this, which is why watches are no longer seen as a status flex
>>62702355>Where should I take my collection from here?I recommend slowing down and really taking a look at what's out there, especially with your budget. If you don't it can be easy to end up buying watches just to check boxes that you end up not really wearing. Make a list of what you're thinking about, try things on, see what looks good with your outfits and sit on the idea for a while. Eventually you'll know which ones were just a passing thought and which ones have a lasting imprint on you.
Reminder that if your watch isnt flooded with diamonds, youre an incel
>>62702355Collecting is dumb. They aren't investments, and any more than a few for different occasions is a discarded opportunity somewhere else financially speaking. Rolex is a boomer brand nobody wears anymore OP. If you want to flex that style of luxury diver, get a Tudor like a proper young person. Your next should be something casual that isn't an obvious pick-me-i'm-wealthy signal. A plain Longines, a wire bar Nomos, or a nice Oris or Tissot. Those latter three especially if you want something that resembles vintage. No bracelet, a NATO strap in leather or nylon only. If you're looking at JLC and VC you probably consider those brands beneath you but honestly it's a piece of art and an expression of you and your choices make you seem like a douche.
>>62702824I respect Longines but Oris is reddit, Tissot is for 22 year olds, and Nomos is for metrosexuals. NATO strap is also plebbit as fuck. Longines is the best watch you can buy at an airport/middle class mall.
>>62702842I already said you seem like a douche you don't have to prove it.
>>62702737This is real and valid. All the more reason to get something authentically you because it matches your style regardless of price than hoping someone will like you because you discarded 50% of the value on your wrist by putting it on. In a business situation they're as likely to think this guy's a retard lets take advantage of him.
