Six figure hell is agony. There's literally nothing you can do but keep being a wagie
$1M is like $600-650k pre-covid so even low 7 figs is hell now
>>62704092low 7 fig is even worse because you are starting to feel like you are getting close to being able to retire and could do it if you only pull off one more double, but it's so much money that you are too scared to risk it in something that actually has a chance at doubling so you end up like me with 2M in VOO collecting divvies and only gambling like 100k max on riskier bets. It's real hell
*wipes my tears with 100 dollar bills
>>62704099Depends where you live and what you want. If I had 2M I'd retire today.
>>62704088i'm sitting at 700k and feel nothing
>>62704125Unless you moved to SEA or some other shithole you'd be back in the wagecage the moment a multiyear correction hits, or within a decade as real growth of your stocks fails to keep up with the accelerating inflation
Six figure hell isn't so bad. So long as you stay focused on cutting costs and living below your means you should be rapidly improving your financial situation. I only recently became hyper focused on money and retirement and it's astounding how much progress I made. Half of the time it feels like you are running in mud until your investments make a move. Then quite suddenly you find yourself asking "Hey, where the hell did all this money come from?"
>>62704138That's because it is nothing. Same purchasing power as $400-450k only 6 years ago.
>>62704099yeah get that fat 1% voo divvie.
do you live in San Fran or something? oh of course you do, you faggotsmove to the boonies, get a nice house for $100K, and retire. or WFH if you want.
>>62704138You could put it all towards a house and get a $550k mortgage bro
>>62704140You need a cash/bond buffer, retiring 100% VOO would be retarded
>>62704189That would make it last even shorter than a decade. $2M isn't what it used to be. Would you have retired with $1.2M in 2020? I don't think you would have, even though the purchasing power is equal
People trying to retire on only 2m are saying it’s ok to live only on like 30k which is technically doable if you want to live like a poor
>>62704099>niggaz can't even hit a 2xpussy niggaz
I would have made 900k this year but /biz/ told me the thing I thought would retire me was a scam so I didn't buy.I realize now /biz/ is full of retarded people.
>>62704138>>62704147>>62704179I know these are 'jokes' but it really is crazy how /biz/ is richer than 80% of our peers and still fucking poor because of how fucked up everything is now.
>>62704088i hate posts like this, kys OP you humblebragging faggot
>>62704246>>62704241My life literally hasn't changed at all. I don't own a house and drive a 2010 Camry
>>62704246OP doing better than me
>>62704246i'm close to 400k liquid like you OPbut i have a paid off house and 2 paid off cars and goon about 5 hours a day
>>62704246Dude, if you had been here for nearly a decade like many of us, you too would have had at least 500k and the realization that 500k is not enough.
>>62704221That's a 1.5% withdrawal rate. What withdrawal rate do you feel you need to get down to?>>62704208Internet machine says 1.2 in 2020 is 1.55 today. Are you disingenuous or do you have more accurate sources?
>>62704483>do you have more accurate sources? They expanded the money supply by 40% in 2020-2021 alone, lmao. Of course they've been manipulating the official numbers downward using hedonic adjustment and trying to put blame on a hundred different external factors, but if you actually look around you at the things you spend money on, like housing, food, transportation, everything has gone up far more than 40% in price. If you look at financial markets, including hard assets like gold, they've also gone up far more than 40%. In part because of speculation, but that speculation is largely driven by excessive moneyprinting. You can trust the official numbers which are completely disconnected to the actual reality you live in, or you can use your own head and ask yourself why your grocery bill has gone up far more than 40% in only 6 year
>>62704088I'm a multimillionaire but I'm in 6-figure crypto hell
>>62704099Honestly you can just giganeet in a rural area with low 7 figures.
>>62704088Not sure what you guys are planning for but if you have a paid off house, no kids, and about 500k in a 60/40 split stocks/bonds (I'd add more gold but whatever) you're never going to have to work a single day of your life if you didn't want to.And yes I know it's not the same as before, and I know inflation is a lot higher than the official figures and will grow a lot more in the next years, but still you're in assets and that buffer should grow with inflation if you're not retarded and start eating into the capital. Then of course if you have kids things are different, but then you kind of deserve that by creating a human being that will have to live as a hated minority in his own country. Or if you're one of those retarded faggots that wants rolexes and expensive wine and whatnot. And again you deserve your shitty life if that's the case.Again, paid off house and 500k in the bank makes you not a wagie anymore. Wagies HAVE to go to work, you CAN work if you feel like it.
>>62706972Sure, but I like going to restaurants without having to drive 30 mins one way. I like having things for my kids to do. Sometimes I enjoy meeting friends and being part of a community
>>62704088Having more than $50k is agony being that rich will make anyone feel disgusitng for being a pedo
>>62704099Yup. And the you hold out for that double and the market crashes, bringing you back to 6 figure hell.
>100k heavenAccept that I won’t retire but have a good amount of emergency funds. Feels good man.
it's true, the worst part is grinding through the 300-500k range. Once you hit 1-1.5MM the dividends and returns actually start to feel significant. Then you just have to grind a few more years and all of a sudden the snowball effect hits. it seems like a lot of people go from "still grinding" to "FIRE'd" within like 2-3 years.
>>62707076>>62707004>>62707004this. Also, I have just a bit more than OP and I'm retired living by the beach at SEA. I spend maybe 2k a month max. I don't even touch the principal since I have some side income coming through plus taking out 3.5% a year from the index funds.
>>62704099this is some fucking cope. Secure a house put away like 100k for rainy day and punt the rest wtf? i wish i had that much money. Being low 6 figs is like> can't buy a house yet> can only invest 70% of your NW max.you can invest 90% of your NW and still be fine
>>62704303how the fuck did we all end up like this? I did everything right. Sacrificed my fucking 20s and i'm STILL NOWHERE. 300K NW. FUCK THIS GAY EARTH.
>>62707059>$50k>rich
Awww bros I'm stuck in le 8 figure hell :((((( damn this suuuuuckks :((((9 i cant escape le 8 figure hell
>>62707062>not holding bonds so you can slurp the dipPigs get slaughtered, etc.
>>62707266There's gonna be a dip?
this thread makes me want to kms
>>62707224America is being looted, responsibly following what worked in the past doesn't work so well anymore. Still a wiser choice than being stupid financially, but it's enough to inspire hatred.
>>62707076once you hit $200K and especially $300K it really starts snowballing. keep at it brother.
>>62707224Hehe
Aw you poor baby you can buy a small house in cash, weh you can't buy a 2 story.Anyways, you really don't know how truly good you have it. There are flat brokies out there in severe debt too that can't even land a single interview. And they're doing everything right by the book, but it's just impossible out there for them. Yet, here you are bitching about a six-fig net worth.
I have like $2k and an old car that I'm still buying. My gf just gave me the best head of my life and then I tapped that shit hard.Life's good. Seethe more richoids.
>>62707004>60/40Opinion disregarded

That's why all the rich whites are heading to south America op.
>>62705806>blah blah words words wordsInstead of retarded schitzo babble just say "I use the truflation rate." No one cares about your /lgbt/ tier blog post.
>>62708079tell me how to retire with 1 million while supporting a family (4 people) and my 4 grandparents (mine & my wife, 8 mouths total). what are the consistent dividend tricks you got up your sleeve?
>>62708102>Nooo how am I gonna buy them all iphones and starbucks while I live in the middle of California
>>62704088This thread is full of jews that want to convince retards to "save le harder in your blackcock etf, goy". Isnt that embarassing that you have to manage slavery in full time on a porn anime board, you hook nosed idiots?
>>62708092People like you are the reason this board has gone down the shitter
>>62704147This. I know people making $700k per month and they live in abject poverty. Literally living out of their car sucking guys off behind the gas station and donating plasma for spare cash. You have to be making $80-90 million a year to even be considered lower-middle class.
I have eaten beans for the last 5 years living paycheck to paycheck. I can't even invest because it all goes towards ever increasing expenses.>6 figures is hell>low 7 figures is hellYou aren't ready for hell. Keep your knees above water.
>>62708133i once knew this guy. He had it all. owned multiple companies. world's first trillionaire. he fell off and now he's only a billionaire. Sad! he will probably have to sell twitter to makes ends meet.
>>62708130>noooooo if you don't entertain garbo nonsense then you're le heckin bad.>noooooo you can't just expect responses to have actual substance instead of pseudo intellectualist LARPing>>>/reddit/Go back tourists. You aren't smart.
>>62704099the other problem is if u quit ur job u have to pay jacked up health insurance prices on obamacare exchange instead of getting it cheap through work so even if i got enough to cover my living expenses or even replace my whole salary i would have to add on the extra healthcare hell
>>62707004i don't have a paid off house, that's my target this cycleafter that i will just consult a few patients from time to time
>bought NVDA in my early 20s>sat on my ass for my late 20s>millionaire NEET in my early 30sTry thinking ahead a little. And stop falling for the doom and gloom.
>>62704125Same. Even with a mortgage payment I live off like 4k/month. 2M is plenty
>>62704099You can always give me 90% of your assets if you'd rather return to 6 fig hell so much, don't worry I think I'll manage.
+350k (100k long term 250k short term this year)what are you going to do about capital gains tax? (this is my first year that i have to itemize)
>>62709088What's the next move then
>>62704099I'm at $1.5m. Not quite enough to completely retire but I am thinking of quitting to go pursue a dream job. I vibeslopped up a shitty web app to run the calculations, I should be able to support my family and maintain continual net worth growth at this point even if I only make $30k/yr.
>>62708002This is literally me, I'm 31 no job no savings no career nothing literally $2 in my bank account been unemployed for 3 years now I've been selling my possessions off to survive, I cannot even land a single interview despite the hundreds of applications i've put in, no gaps on resumé(got someone to be a reference for a couple of fake jobs to fill in the 3 year gap)but I'm white with a white last name and I only speak English. Shit's fucked beyond all recognition
>>62710010I never had a problem finding a job but I'm always the dream candidate these days. Lots of experience, cool personal projects, normal looking, and cute family. I am not really worried about even if my crazy plan fails, I am sure I can slot right back into my old career.
I went from saving up my first million and buying my first house, to saving up 600k more and buying a second house to rent out in 5 years. The last 600k in 1,5 year... Yet I feel poor. I'm doing the rent out thingy for extra income, I thought having lots of money would make me happy, it just makes me more miserly! When I save up I reinvest and then worry about when I can reinvest again to create more distance between me and a poverty.
>>62704088Does anyone know how to fix this fucking app (Delta)? I want to see my all-time graph but no matter how many times I reset it and quickly add back my assets it still shows a 0 balance at the beginning for one day which makes the entire graph squeezed to the top of the screen. This app is fucking retarded I just want a cool graph which shows my net worth over time
