I keep seeing posts like this on wallstreetbets. How easy is it to replicate this?
>>
pretty easy. why do you think we aren't at jobs?
>>
>>62704603
Calls are just bets shit will go up. It's 50/50 whether something will go up or down. So you have a 50% chance of replicating that
>>
>>62704603
>How easy is it to replicate this?
Depends on how well versed your are with the line tool in ms paint
>>
Gambling + confirmation and survivorship biases

Wow! If he keeps this up, Holds_Up_Spork_Standard_Narwhal will be a quandrillionaire really soon! He's such a genius stock trader!

>How easy is it to replicate this?
For every post you see like this, there's 9001 which went bust.

>It's 50/50 whether something will go up or down
4chan is this dumb today

Mathematically if the overall trend is upward and the number and size of direction changes aren't constrained or ergodic the chances of upward movement will be greater than 50%
>>
>>62704759
Yeah op it's like 60/50
>>
>>62704759
Meaningless egghead babble.
Let me guess. You are an academic.

The odds of some retard from 4chan performing as well as an average person from reddit on a task requiring intelligence are well below 50%
>>
>>62704784
This! redditors are highly educated and very intelligent people. reddit is the website for high IQ intellectuals who believe in science.
>>
>>62704805
Most 4chan users don't notice the average intelligence of their board dropping because they are the ones dropping it
>>
>>62704885
It's because of the Indians anon

>I can't be retarded, I'm white
Fucking retard
>>
>>62704603
It’s luck anon, that’s what they don’t tell you. Notice he had a draw down of 85%, then it mooned. This guy is literally just gambling on emotions. If you walked into a casino with 69k you might be able to walk out with 200k but eventually you’ll always lose to the house.
>>
>>62704770
yeah that's myron scholes
>>
Most likely his parents are rich and he has a fake job making 200k as a Tax Observation Legality Analytics Consultant and therefore trying to copy his dumb ass is a bad idea since he almost lost 59k

Did it in about two months with MU earlier this year. Was up 150%?
My idiot ass didn't set stop losses or take profits after parabolic gains. Left with 23k realized gains. I SHOULD have sold my entire personal stake and let the remaining gains ride risk free...
Options can be tricky. Many additional variables. I stick with stocks.
You should look up US/domestic oil refineries. If you've been laying attention to news headlines at all it was an obvious bet months ago, particularly with the US reserve supply only dwindling never replenishing. Now diesel is sold out AND a US refinery recently had a fire.
Refineries are WAY over-bought.... but until people stop buying fuel the stocks will continue to rise.
Beard of day trading rules. Uncle same both
>Taxes you on daycare gains, and
>You CANNOT claim daycare losses as losses
>So if your gains 10k but lose 12k during the year, your will OWE on that 10k gain and your losses will be considered 0.
t learned this the hard way
Godspeed and God bless OP.

Ranjeets werent on the internet when i first frequented 4chan and the internet. The addition of browns and normies on the internet has been seriously detrimental and noticeable. Early 2000s were the internets golden years.

I’ve worked some shitty wagie jobs in a major north american city. All the shitty jobs are filled with browns, blacks and whites.

Easy to replicate but it won't be you. Gambling as they have said.
Notice he lost 85% of his money before he hit a 20x.
What happens when you get that 85% loss multiple times in a row?
If you hit two 85% losses back to back, you're down to 3% (rounded up) of your starting money. A 20x return on that means you're back to 60% of your starting capital.

This is why you keep two accounts.
Instead of selling your winning position to close, you open a new short position to completely balance your existing position. Wait a day or two, then close out. You avoid the day trading rule and as long as you hold enough margin / pay the carry cost, you'll be golden

It's far more heavily weighted towards upside than 50:50 - the issue is that said weighting is factored / priced in at the moment a call is sold, based on multiple mathematic factors (called the 'greeks', as they're all represented by a different greek letter) that prevent callbuying from just being free money.

Basically, say you have a stock currently priced at $100 a share, and buy a call option dated to expire a year out that will let you buy that share at $120. A basic understanding is that that call will be profitable / 'in the money' if it's trading above $120 in a year's time... but in actuality that call will be sold to you at a price that gives the seller a premium, where it only ACTUALLY becomes profitable for you, the buyer, if the stock is trading at, say, $124.24 instead - your break-even price again depends on how the greeks work out for the stock, since recent performance and volatility swings heavily factor in, but that's the basic idea.

Harder than replicating this. Which is why you're allowed to try to do it.
