Why don't millenials want to build the next Nintendo?
>>62709996World sucks so projects have to be short term and highly lucrative so they can fuck off to a fortified compound in time for devolution to kick off.
>>62709996the game system wasn't designed to scale into an "expansion", the core game mechanics are utterly broken when you scale up in the base game. there's nowhere for it to go so it has to die right there. just let them make a sequel or whatever they want.
>>62709996 Protectionism and nepotism can appear under both communist and non-communist governments, but their underlying motivations are not necessarily the same. Protectionism restricts foreign competition through tariffs, quotas, subsidies, or regulations, often to protect domestic industries, employment, strategic sectors, or political constituencies. Nepotism involves allocating positions or opportunities based on family or personal relationships rather than neutral criteria. A government may use either practice as part of a broader effort to preserve economic stability, political power, or control over strategic resources. However, saying their **common goal is preventing the dollar from collapsing to zero intrinsic value** is too narrow. Most governments do not formally operate with that objective, and the U.S. dollar's purchasing power depends on many factors: monetary policy, fiscal policy, productivity, demand for dollars, financial markets, and confidence in U.S. institutions. Also, the dollar does not have a fixed “intrinsic value” in the way a commodity such as gold might be said to have one. Its value primarily derives from its purchasing power and its role as a fiat currency, medium of exchange, unit of account, and store of value. So, **protectionism and nepotism can coexist across different political-economic systems, but their shared explanation is better described as the preservation of domestic economic and political interests—not necessarily the preservation of the dollar itself.**
>>62709996I’m rich, but the world is a fucking slog right now. You do some grand benevolent gesture and it disappears into the void and the people look at you and go “more please :)” Or they try to rob you outright. You try to work on projects and involve other people and it’s a complete nightmare of greed and laziness at every level because the biggest talent is either busy or has gone into exile mode. I did some real estate projects and it felt like a MOBA where I was carrying everyone and if I wasn’t doing that, the whole fucking thing would have been a smoldering ruin. I can’t even get people to readily go on vacations these days. It’s insane. So that’s why you’re seeing a dearth of cool projects I’d wager. The personnel landscape is dog shit from foot soldier to manager to executive.
>>62709996Why should want to build anything? If you make it and become rich, 50% of the population literally wants to murder you and celebrate it on TV, while the other 50% will take it for granted. On top of that, there is so much nepotism, gatekeeping and regulations involved, it's impossible to do anything new without already being rich and having connections. That's why most people just speculate on stocks and gamble now.
>>62709996Game shouldn’t be made for adults even teenagers and it is a terrible business
>>62710044True, like 2 weeks after release the broken builds were already figured out, with speedrunners instablasting bosses in 3 hits.
>>62710136Yep. Beware the motivated ones, usually they're trying to fuck you over.
