>>62723735I was an intern at a PI company in Washington DC when I was in college to see if I would want to make it a career and it fucking sucks. 90% of cases are baby mommas trying to find the deadbeat dads that smashed and dashed, and the other 10% are spouses hiring people to try and see if their husband/wife are cheating. It's a lot of digging through trash, like literal garbage, to try and find letters with names on them that you can link to a public database. Also a LOT of waiting around for nothing to happen. Protip: if someone unknown calls you and pronounces your last name wrong DON'T correct them, we used to use that tactic to prove identity all the time. This of course was also like 20 years ago, so I have no idea what it's like now. Probably a lot of just skimming social media accounts.
