I’ve never seen dispersion this extreme. Semiconductors are something ridiculous like 20% of the SPY, so them up 15% in a week will counteract any macro pressure down

Also META up 40% in a month is +1% in the SPY alone

So it’s all on tech to keep going up

Yes and they are concentrated appropriately

People much smarter than you already made the adjustment to basically guarantee 10% a year on average

Boomers still use Facebook and have the money

Cause it’s just AI meme stuff. Whenever a mag7 post a new even sick AI model they pump like 20%. Google had it too. They just take turns trying to pump their stocks

you realize that's bullish right? market close to ATH with bad breadth, when they inevitably start buying the beat down names the market is going to RIP through ATH and beyond, lmao

Why do you people act like this is some grand, convoluted conspiracy? Tech companies have extremely low employment and material costs because most of the shit they do is software related. It's not like Walmart with 2 million employees and a massive physical network of goods and services they have to get to 11,000 retail stores.

Except it’s never been this egregious, painting it as “tech is good” is a huge strawman. The economy isn’t tech, and the economy is more likely to drag tech lower than tech is to bring the rest of the economy up. Most of the real economy is struggling hard, but as long as new models with zero profitability keep being released, we can keep playing this game

The “AI bubble” has given the SPY an outsized weighting of semiconductors.
