Basically in a lot of countries you need a job sponsor to to migrate or a job earning over x amount, it's more lucrative for the owner to provide the position at cost to the employee. It's also why so many immigrants own franchise businesses. Money is made unethically on the side. In my country it seems to be about $50,000 NZD to get a bullshit job at a takeaway place to then start the residency process.
