>boomer dad cant understand how bonds and stocks are both going up
>"conventional wisdom says when one goes up the other goes down, whats going on?"
its inflation causing inequality dad. young people have been living in a depression for the past 6 years, we've known the economy is shit.

There is no recession, you moron.
>>
>>62725459
Bonds are going down, nigger faggot. Bond yields and bond prices are inversely proportional. Also, you have to be 35 to post here.
>>
>>62725462
If you look at anything that's not circular financed AI shit you'll notice that there is, in fact, a recession. The oil situation will keep making it worse until it implodes into a crisis.

>things are the way they are
>create an explanation that attempts to explain why so that a 5 year old who only knows the alphabet could understand
>dont give a shit if it actually is accurate or makes sense, just that it rhymes to 5 year olds
>now everyone 5-95 is listening to me and i can make them do whatever i want
i'm too busy drooling and clapping my hands to AI sydney sweeny for this. you know, real adult stuff

>muh inflation
You zoomers are so fucking retarded it hurts. Your boomer dad lived through 15% inflation, year after year, for nearly two decades (1965-1982). You have been wetting your pants over a fraction of that inflation rate for a fraction of the time.
>>
>>boomer dad cant understand how bonds and stocks are both going up
They're not you retard. Bond YIELDS going up means BONDS are going DOWN.
Stocks are going up, but only the top seven. Everything else is flat or falling.

I feel bad for OP's dad.

The anons shitting on you for using “bonds” as shorthand for yields are dorks. Plenty of people do that, even though it’d get you a D- on the economics exam.

That said, you are still wrong.
The issue is the structure of passive capital flows “the big mindless machine” as it were. Yeilds go up because the last of the pensions are finally switching into 401K mode.
Add in some geopolitical tensions, high government debt, and the bond holders who held through covid getting burned by laughably fake inflation forecasts, and nobody really wants a bond anymore.
That makes the yield go up.

While the special K shit is really it’s not really that big of a deal for bond traders. They trade in bonds from countries with far more wealth inequality all the time.

you make retards look like they're a genius

Sectors other than AI and associated like equipment or servicing boomers are stagnant or contracting. This particularly a problem if AI corrects. Energy prices are inflationary on just about everything and is alteady leading to demand destruction. Food & energy spikes are cutting into already thin discretionary spending into what remains a largely consumer driven economy. Missed payments on debt obligations are rising on all grades of credit, loans against home equity and retirement accounts are also up.

I've cut back spending on all manner of things I can still afford with no issue and can only imagine the spending habits of those at or below median income.

We're in a flat-out depression. It's just not caught up to this pyramid scheme yet because every government declared that it's legal for them to break the law as long as it doesn't clue there rest of the world in on the fact there's a depression.
>>
>>62727770
That shit is cumulative you fucking retard. The effects haven't gone away, it's been made worse from living through 15% inflation year after year for two decades.
Inflation is just a hidden tax that siphons the bottom part of the K to the top. That's why they have to use big letters to explain it: So idiots like you can understand.

habbla benchod like a genius to you too, Darsh.
