There are companies that pay trade workers to wear cameras and microphones on their hat and clothing all day while they work so they can use that data to train AI. This is being paired with robotics. A lot of people scoff at the idea of a robot doing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, metalworking, welding, etc work but it isn’t crazy and companies are training robots on these things right now. And with time and investment, these robots will be better than humans at these jobs. And they won’t show up hungover, have drama with other employees, take vacations or just no-show jobs, etc. They can work on holidays and weekends and even at night for some jobs and not need overtime pay or throw a fit because they have plans. We’re years away but it’s coming fast and is much more advanced than the typical boomer can imagine.
