I'm starting a full time job tomorrow which means I'm going to be making a lot more money, and I want to start investing. Ive looked at beginner tutorials but I also wanted to hear from this board. Im not trying to become super rich in a few years, just some extra money on the side for emergencies or to get something nice every now and then.
>>62729287Retard, don't ask anyone here. Ask HR at work. They'll be able to point you the right direction. If you're getting a 401k, whatever company is doing it will probably send investment advisors in every once in a while. For the love of god don't do anything you see on /biz/
asking /biz/ how to start investing is like asking a casino dealer how to save money. if the new job matches your 401k take the free money, keep a few months of expenses somewhere boring, then just auto-buy an index fund and stop touching it. keep a small pile for whatever stupid shit keeps you entertained, shitcoins, sports bets, whatever, but mentally write that money off the second you use it. the easiest way to get ahead is mostly just not doing anything catastrophically dumb when your first real paychecks start hitting.
>>62729287Just like the other anons said, see if your company does a matching 401k and don't do anything retarded that is akin to gamblingInvesting for retirement should be boring as fuck, look into different target-date funds that change risk over time automatically for youI would also look into high yield savings accounts at different banks for your emergency funds
