I used to be involved with HP logistics. We would optimize the best transportation methods and routes for HP deliveries to their big box retail customers to save on costs. For context, a 53 foot dry van trailer can hold 26 standard pallets on the floor, 52 pallets if the product can handle being double stacked. There's typically a limit on the total value of cargo on a single truck for insurance reasons. It's in the 7 figures USD.For HP printer ink, you could only put TWO pallets on a truck before you hit that insurance limit. It was easily the highest $/lb product that I dealt with. I did the math and it was close to the spot value of gold at the time.
