It's all artificially held up so it's impossible to tell when it will pop. That said I did have a good laugh at anthropic's net loss. Actually laughed out lout at their 42b loss while asking for a 2 trillion ipo.
I suspect it is getting dangerous. Openai making up new shit about "hacks" by the day, even musk talking about regulations; all of that seems like a giant holy shit we are fucked but we need some cope to sell to our investors to keep the lights on.I cannot remember any instance in history where the ceos of companies went on record saying they need to be slowed down and regulated because their product actually poses danger. Not oil, not tobacco, not weapons, no industry that has literally killed people in the hundreds of millions has ever even tried to be responsible (just the opposite, actively fighting awareness), and now suddenly I am supposed to believe the ones sponging investor money like never before care about morals and long term survival of our species?

It's all 'look at this godlike entity we built, we are loosing control aaaahhh'. They wouldn't have to keep telling us how scary and powerful the fucking llms are if they had actual breakthroughs. From what I've gathered said "hacks" are less forced entries via unknown exploits and more martha from accounting mailed a list of accounts and passwords to someone unknown because he asked nicely.I don't know enough about cybersecurity to really know, but I see the headlines and repeated delaying of the ipo, which makes no sense to me. If they had created something as powerful as they pretend, they'd gladly cash in billions whilst refining it until it's safe. I believe what we are seeing is just the latest trend in filling the bubble with more hot air befor it deflates. Anything sufficiently dangerous would surely lead to every authority figure claiming there is nothing to worry about whilst trying to abuse it behind closed doors.
