>>62748049nice now what? do you jsut look at it and hope in 20 years when no one has heard of Pokemon that someone would want it?
>>62748104Pokemon came out in the 90s and even now everyone has still heard of Pokemon, the younger gens too, which have produced their own Pokemon fans.
>>62748104i think ill crack it, jizz on it, then send it to tag for grading
>>62748049Contrats bro. That is a legit solid buy right there. load up on some early Japanese too I keep telling people about these cards and they starting to get noticed.
All the capital entering the card market has a vested interest in keeping the greater fool economy alive
Just looking thro the lastest sales and i have this tingling feeling that i might just make it
>>62748049thats not a charizard ??
>>62748110Younger generations don't have the same sort of "spiritual connection" to Pokemon that we millennials had. It's just true.Does that mean they necessarily won't want to buy up a bunch of Pokemon cards 20 years from now? I don't know
>>62748706Yes pokey man cards tethers you to this world. For some, it's like a grounding ritual to look at them especially if you think they're living in the same real of imaginary worth to others as well. It's like the concept of diamond hands just with cute non-existent pocket monsters in all kinds of imagined forms and colors. Escapism is in hot demand when western culture is undermined by the financial overlords on every metric. Soon dangerous hoarding of valuables is going to get banned for your own safety as well. Such as pokey man cards.
>>62748049why does it say edition error?

>>62748049lol I literally had this card when I was a kid
>>62748049That's one ugly looking Pikachu.
pokemon cards rarely go down in value
>>62748706As a 40 something year old who has been collecting shit since he's 5 with the intention of "these will be worth millions some day", I have actually finally figured it out. When I was a kid, I was collecting comic books and sports cards and shit, because those were the things at that time which had proven to accrue insane value. Comic books my dad read as a kid were worth in many cases $50,000 to millions each.Fast forward 40 years and my most valuable comic is only worth $2k in mint condition, and the next most valuable is worth maybe $100. Why?Pokemon helped me answer this question. Why did Pokemon all of a sudden take off re: collectibles?Because all the then-kids who were into Pokemon are now-adults with kids who have a "first generation" connection with it, and now they have MONEY to do something about that connection.Did I COLLECT comic books of the marvel/DC universe? Yes. Did I think comic book characters were extremely cool? Yes. But they weren't creations of my generation. And so now that I can afford a $50k+ comic book, I don't care to have one.Kids now are into Pokemon, sure. They'll collect the cards, sure. When they're in their 40's-50's, though, they will not give a fuck about Pokemon, and the people who do will be literally a dying breed, despite the probably 500 Pokemon movies that will come out for kids of all ages during this period. If you want to make real money collecting, find the thing that kids today have to call their own. What's the IP of the current generation of like 5-15 year olds that is WHOLLY theirs? That is what, in 25-35 years, will go from something you pay a few dollars for today to millions for then.
