Tell me why M2 isn't a good deflator. It seems to deflate inflation out of the S&P, turning its exponential hockey stick into a horizontal zig-zag.If you price things on long time scales which don't see productivity efficiency gains, they follow M2 in inflation rate.So again, why would I not use M2 to deflate hockey sticks?
M2 deflated diesel shows a potential $15+/gal future price, if it goesmto where it was in 2008 with this war kerfuffle getting worse.

M2 has been increasing at an average 6.5%-7% per annum over decades time horizons. It's reflected in the costs of goods which aren't advantaged by production efficiency gains. Price your favorite cheeseburger between 20 years ago and now... guaranteed it's up about 4x in price (~7%/year inflation).
>>62755814Taking inflation out of prices, equalizing in dollar terms.Top chart shows what mean gross domestic income (GDI per capita of working population) felt like in years past, in today's dollars. Felt like your pappy could afford ~3x on the mean salary vs you today? It's because he could then.Ron Paul was right, it's the FED stupid!
Deflate by (on TradingView):Get today's M2SL reading, call this M2SL[0];Multiply the symbol you want to deflate by this M2SL[0] reading; Then divide the product by M2SL itself. So SYMBOL*M2SL[0]/M2SL, which today looks like:SYMBOL*(23.34*10^12)/M2SLEasy!
