Is anybody else investing in/buying shares/betting on the American midterm elections? Right now Paxton (R) winning a senate seat in Texas against Talarico (D) is only 36 cents on Poly. I can't help but think that's a good deal, despite the polls, but then again I don't know what the vibe is like in Texas. Anybody else betting on this race?

Also, anybody have any other races to look at? Any shitty polling you've noticed or other info that only someone from your State would know about your local midterm election?

This is FINANCE related btw, not /pol/ related. Please try to keep discussion as neutral and objective as possible

I just cannot see Texas voting for a dude who looks like this, is single (possibly gay?), and has said a bunch of pro-trans stuff up until like a year ago. It would blow my mind.

I know it's possible and the polls show Talarico ahead, so I'm prepared to get BTFO and lose a lot of money on this. Maybe someone can enlighten me

>investing
Nigger be honest with yourself, not only are you just gambling, you're doing it on one of the most kiked platforms in existence

for the first time in a long time, the GOP is genuinely the underdog in a Texas race, Paxton is THAT shitty of a candidate

if you're looking for sneaky underdog plays, put money on Turek (44%) in Iowa and Rogers (26%) in Michigan for senate races, and Wellman (25%) in Missouri's 2nd CD

>just gambling

Yes but gambling is framed as "buying shares" for legal reasons, and I'm going to frame it as "investing" for the sake of wanting to talk about it on this board

>Paxton is THAT shitty of a candidate

It's Texas though, home of Ted Cruz. And I don't see Talarico as some kind of amazing candidate for Texas, but he does have a latino sounding last name (despite not being latino) and I think that's a big deal in Texas

>Rogers (26%) in Michigan

Damn, that is interesting

>Turek (44%) in Iowa
Wellman (25%) in Missouri's 2nd CD
I know absolutely nothing about either of these but I'll look into them

El-Sayed is another shitty candidate that leftists crammed through because McMorrow didn't drop out until it was too late and she ended up splitting Stevens' vote....he's a Gaza loon with connections to unironic terrorists, he'll absolutely underperform the national blue shift

Iowa FEELS like a blood-red state that still shouldn't be competitive, but remember it voted for Obama twice....and Trump's fuckups in Iran are the reason why diesel is through the roof, just in time for harvest season....I genuinely think Turek is a slight favorite at the moment

Wellman is a bit more of a long-shot, but under the old 2022 map (which will be used in this election) rather than the new map the Missouri GOP tried to substitute, he has half a chance

also, re: Texas
Ted Cruz is just an unlikeable asshole with a stupid face....Paxton is a *cartoonishly corrupt and amoral* asshole, who also has a stupid face
>>
bump

I know some of you degenerates are planning on betting on the midterms

Paxton’s whole campaign is “that Tofu Talarico sure is WEIRD!” That might play with the MAGAtard base but no one else is impressed. I think you’re throwing your money away on Paxton, OP.

I actually do appreciate your input, but these are just opinions. Wish we could get something more objective, like "X candidate's internal polls are wrong, here is proof, here is how it's affecting that race" etc.

There has to be some anon that has "inside" or useful info on one of these races
>>
>>62757675
if you think actual campaign and/or polling insiders are going to be posting on /biz/ prepare to be disappointed

Lot of bets for political stuff isn't worth it, 1.1x in ~30+ days isn't lucrative.
>>
The problem is this trade is correlated with your portfolio. A blue wave where both the senate and house flip is not great for American assets (which you are probably overweight) because markets are forward looking and will be afraid of the risk of a Democrat trifecta and what it might do in 2029.

this board is so gay. 10% compounded monthly is a 10x in 2 years. That's not good enough?
>>
>>62756931
Texas has changed a lot since the 90s. It’s like 60% fags and foreigners now. And that’s not even counting the people who arrive every year from New York and California
>>
>>62764233
That’s assuming a perfect win streak on your bets which you’re not going to get.
