Im one of the lucky few who is actually passionate about what he does and enjoys it. But the more I try to go above and beyond, the more practical real world results I create, the more profit I make for my company the more my coworkers take me for granted. I dont except a raise. Im an engineer, i just wanted to design the best possible product within our budget and timeline for the love of the game.
Unfortunately im starting to realize that coworkers dont like it when u do bettee than them. I wasnt trying to show off or mog anyone. I just wanted to be a team player. If I stop giving a shit and barely work no one notices. Im in a small company too so its not like a big Corp that just wants people to do busy work, we actually need innovation..
Im thinming of going into tech sales or finance and just do projects on my own time for myself. Maybe create my own comapny and run it the way a decent human being would. Also, they will always underpay u 20-30k than what u are worth. Im so fatigued and jaded. Tell ur kids not to follow their dreams and to just make money so they dont gotta deal with other people.

sales and finance are two career tracks where your outcome is entirely determined by your performance, although you are still kind of hard capped at a certain level.

for example in sales if you're a top 1% performer at a good company than you WILL make $1 million cash comp, but almost nobody makes $2 million+ because it's just not realistic and the comp plan gets structured in a way that makes it basically impossible.

finance you can only outperform the market by so much unless you just completely throw risk management out the window but in that case you're more likely to lose all of it than make more.

only way to really make uncapped earnings is as an entrepreneur.

My job is simple and lets me shitpost during work hours but I fear I may have to take a position in the managerial chain which means I would have more responsibilities and more work. If I don't take this position the alternative is a fat bipolar ADHD autistic landwhale of a woman gets the job and I don't want to work for someone who's so fat her sneakers squeak when she walks.

Thats the thing, I have good performance, gift of gab and drive. On top of tons of tehcncial abilities and out of the box thinking. Which is why other engineers hate me.

Build your own thing or you aren't actually doing shit and are just a cog.
Simple as.
No one will ever give you credit, you'll never "get the money" you made, and you will have literally nothing at the end.
Leave and have a real life of building.
They need you, you don't need them.

You should join a consulting firm, they kill for this kind of stuff
