Maybe it’s just because UNI bled 30% from its local top two weeks ago but I’m actually starting to think Aerodrome is going to be a serious competitor to Uniswap. I was really excited to get back into Uniswap after they turned the fee switch on and actually made the token valuable, but aerodrome’s tokenomics seem pretty good too. Jannie’s I’m not shilling I’m just trying to foster a discussion on the tech and potential future market share of two projects. I want to invest in UNI but I’m worried aerodrome might become a new liquidity king
>>62763111Jannie’s please have mercy on my soul
>>62763111neither. just curve it baby
i wouldn’t call aero the new liquidity king yet but i get the argument. uni is still the boring obvious choice and aero has way more room to surprise people if base keeps pulling activity. the 30% dump just makes uni look worse right now, doesn’t mean the whole thing is cooked. i’d rather hold a bit of both than turn it into some winner takes all fight, and if i’m feeling stupid with the leftover sol on shitcoins better
>>62763111UNI is an insanely volatile piece of shit. that said, uniswap is truly "defi native", has a much strong network effect, is multichain, has better developers, more TVL; they have emerged as the dominant DEX after many bloody years of DEX wars. aerodrome's success is contingent on the success of Coinbase, who has been trying to amass enough good boy points that they can enshrine themselves as the definitive "American" exchange and become entrenched as an institutional middleman. But even during the past two years of an ostensibly "crypto friendly" administration, every "made in America" crypto coin and service has been repeatedly and mercilessly cucked, and the same is true for Coinbase, since this administration is firmly wedged up Binance's asshole and openly engages in corruption with them, while baldie rather helplessly twiddles his thumbs waiting for what was promised. Clarity Act failed to pass. Not saying Coinbase and Base and Aerodrome are going to catastrophically fail or anything, but are they ever really going to be able to assert themselves and force themselves into becoming an entrenched middleman, when an extremely corrupt overseas behemoth has already kind of eaten their lunch? Because that's what you have to hope for if this thing is ever going to move. Meanwhile the supply of UNI is fixed while AERO just inflates on a daily basis
>>62763235>>62763488You both keep saying aerodrome’s success is contingent on Coinbase/base, but is it? The mainnet launching in two weeks is launching on base, optimism, arbitrum, Robinhood, and mainnet Ethereum. “Aerodrome Finance and Velodrome are combining into a single, cross-chain DEX called Aero, expanding its high-revenue trading and liquidity model directly onto Ethereum.” They’re designing it to be the definitive spot exchange of the whole on-chain economy. They’re going to launch with the goal of attracting liquidity providers with the greatest roi, LPs will flock to aero, then liquidity begets liquidity. It’s quite the vision. I think Aero is decently defi native too, velodrome started with five guys who met in a discord, and I think only a few million in TVL and grew to beat all the incumbents. “better product” plus better rewards for LP equals flight to aerodrome. As LPs flood these pools with capital, liquidity deepens. Deeper liquidity creates tighter spreads and minimal slippage, causing smart routers and traders on Base to naturally execute swaps through Aerodrome. But there is something to be said for Uniswap emerging as the victor after the dex wars, and honestly I’m too tired from being stressed about AI’s threat to ECDSA to think about the binance bit of what you said, I think they can coexist. In the last thirty days Aerodrome went from like 2% of the onchain stock volume to about 1/3rd. Plus what I said about tighter spreads, less slippage. And about the emissions bit, I like UNIs tokenomics and I don’t love Aero’s, but aero’s is pretty fuckin interesting. The flywheel effect could be something to behold.

I was a huge Coinbase fanboy and base chain supporter from day one but they have raped the chain for their own greed and makes me sick. OG memes that have spent years shilling for the chain just completely disregarded and disrespected in the last year has pissed me off to no end. Fuck Coinbase.
>>62764041I’m not shilling faggot I don’t even own any aero yet. Also I’m white>>62764251Again I’m pretty sure aero is decently separate from Coinbase. No one on the team or at least the initial team had any connection…
Aero's chart and emissions and potential just look way better right now, 10-20x easy, UNI had its run in 2021 and 2024.
>>62766928>Again I’m pretty sure aero is decently separate from Coinbase.Kek
>>62764251I was a base supporter as well. I was in several projects that were trying to build on chain, which is what coinbase was seemingly trying to get developers to do, but they all got screwed over. Jesse would openly shill inferior projects likely because he was heavily invested in them. In the end, everything on there ended up looking like a rugpull. There was lots of insider trading going on and now it’s another ghost chain
>>62763111Stratus mogs both of those, unironically
