It's always disappointing that there's all these people out there that act like they're wizards, smooth operators at making money, and self made. And you get to know them, and it turns out their parents have money and set them up for life. If you don't have more money than your parents, you're not really successful. You're generationally sliding back to a lower status. That's downward. Not upward success.
