Aligned action requires aligned values and most organizations operate on a basis of collective thought. And its not just a rational system, its instinctive and emotional for many people. If you are not one of them you will be pushed out or destroyed. That doesnt just apply, it applies in any social setting where differing thought is not tolerated.

When you don't, other people must pick up your slack. That makes you a dick, as well as being irresponsible.
