Do you believe in factor investing? Do you believe that factor weighted portfolios out perform the passive index?

like designing a portfolio with:
>growth, value, quality, and momentum sleeves

the idea is that your portfolio will rotate around, from sleeve to sleeve. like during dips, value holds up, and quality to an extent. Growth is like your higher beta engine that pushes your gains up and down more aggressively, or drags a bad portfolio up. Quality isn't exactly brakes, but more like a secondary less powerful engine. Value is sometimes your brakes, or you back up engine. A drip of momentum is like adding high octane fuel, but lets be honest with momentum.
if you're using typical cap weighted funds, you're already momentum tilted whether you're aware of that or not.

Something like SPYM/SPMO/SCHD would be interesting. Gets you a bit of everything. Probably beats index fund.

only thing that matters is value, but even then you have to have the discipline to hold for decades

I invest Core/Satellite style. Yes, I've smoked the S&P 500.
