How the fuck is oil still so expensive when we're finally trading with Venezuela again?? And they also quit being a communist country, right? Then that straight of Hormuz or something, has been open for quite some time now and the war seems to be over. So what exactly is happening with the gas prices?

Don't worry they'll be paying you to take oil barrels off their hands now that all the refineries got blown up.
Oil is useless since you can't produce diesel out of it anymore.
>>
Venezuela has enormous reserves
but their production is puny

It's also more difficult to process Veneuelan oil

I wonder if biodiesel is a good thing to invest in.

How long do you think it takes a supertanker to travel from the Persian Gulf to a refinery in California or Texas?
>>62772052
also this. Venezuelan oil fields are in really terrible shape. They've been essentially unmaintained since 1999.

No, its more sustainable and we already have infrastructure for it, but traditional diesel can be produced alongside gasoline for cheaper. We have like 60 years of found oil left still. Thats not considering oil reserves which arent already known and surveryed.

Oil is traded globally. Stuff happening in the US has almost no effect on oil prices

Best idea ever, let's burn the food and pollute just the same.
The only solution to energy that will scale is as much hydro as you can afford in your terrain (energy + battery if you stack your dams), nuclear all the way up to base capacity, then solar and wind which is dirt cheap when available.
>>
Yeah, I don't get it, the US has won the war 50-60 times by now, why price no go down?

Their product is shait as well. For every two barrels of venezuelan crude out of the ground they need to mix it with one barrel of imported naphtha to make it liquid enough so it can be shoved through pipes and onto tankers.
