I've been holding different stocks from different sectors for more than a year. What I've learned so far is: if you're not gonna throw at least 5k in each individual stock you might as well go all in index funds. Most of my portfolio hasn't been profitable and the stocks that mooned didn't give me much profit because I invested too little in them.
>>62778695I've heard and replicated the same rule with 1k but I don't broadly diversify into every sector just bloodied and bulletproof real shit. The companies extract oil or kill people or atleast live in that universe intentionally. For one shitloads of capital remains in the AI & Tech space and currently that pile is duking it out at least on paper with treasuries. If your money isn't there odds are it did bad this year, doesn't mean you are wrong just early. I don't drop 1k at once, normally trickle in because upper lowerclass poorfag with money spread all over the place so building 1-3k positions is slow and I can focus on ones doing particularly shitty relative to projected potential for DCAing. I'm focused on American or more broadly western production shortfalls and I see these as central to the world they intend on building so many of them were mixed on the year and it doesn't bother me. I think you are on the right track just need to buy bigger names and/or give it time. Build your positions that are too small if they are getting unfairly beaten down, trending with everything else but have different fundamentals to everything else.
>>62778757And cut true losers with no future.
>>62778757I'm mostly holding risky and cheap stocks with a decent chance of giving me at least a 2x or 3x. Coty, Sarepta, Rigetti... all of them with at least 1k. The only "safe" one I have is MELI and is the one I allocated most of my money to. I've made some money with trending tech stocks and some health ones but like I said, didn't make me enough to even be happy about it.
>>62779811My intention to invest small amounts in high risk high reward stocks, triple that, then reinvest and do this until I have a shit ton of money.
>>627786951 year is not enough even for index investing.Money compounds over time because we are broke boys and can't throw in big cash in one go.
>>62779828A year is still a long time. The fact that most of my portfolio acted like a roller coaster only to end up at the same place is rather telling.
