The years I spent as a full-time 9-5 wageslave feel like they were utterly wasted

Those years of my mid twenties just lost in a blur

It's INSANE to me that the vast majority of people will do this for their entire lives. Even people who don't really need to because they work in high paying professions will still choose to waste their precious time slaving away.

It's disappointing when you hit the point where you're making as much money in a week of easy work as you used to in a year of hard labor

It’s insane to you that people work? I’ll never understand where people get this idea that they are special and their hedonistic pursuits should society’s top priority.

I ponder this basically every day. I'm climbing the corporate ladder and I'm at the point where I see everyone's payroll. CFO made 1.4 mil base comp last year plus 2 mil bonus. Probably been earning at around that rate for over a decade. If I were making that kind of cash, I'd be retired in a few years tops.

There's way more to life than sitting in a damn office 60 hours per week

Not what I said pal
I still work but I'm on 12 hours a week now. That's it.

I’m not sure if this is true but I heard there being a case of a CEO getting cancer and he still worked his ass off.

I think it’s just identity. People bond way too strongly to it.
