>“Will we do more [delayed draw term loans]? Absolutely,” McBee said. “I don’t look at that as scary debt at all. I look at that as accelerating debt and great debt.”
>Jordan Chalfin, a credit analyst at CreditSights, said CoreWeave had been “very creative” with its financing but noted that with more rivals and hyperscalers exploring similar chip-backed deals, its borrowing costs could rise.
>He added that CoreWeave’s unsecured bonds have sold off as investors worry about a mismatch between its long data centre leases and shorter customer contracts. “If there’s an overbuild, why would [customers] renew their contract with CoreWeave?” he said.

AI is like 50% of the S&P. The big boys that are holding it up have big moats but they aren't immune to a crash either. The key is oil. Tankers keep being blown up. Ukraine keeps striking Russia. Hormuz isn't open. Houthis keep attacking Saudi Aramco. Just 6 hours ago they struck their HQ. The US strategic reserves are at a historic low. Pension funds, medicare, social security and other gibs keep weighing down society, especially because we have an inverted age pyramid and the migrants aren't contributing. France is on the verge of financial collapse.

Made a big tuna salad and smoked a cigar outside today. My parent's 401k's are probably fucked now until they die but they'll be fine, they have plenty of other non-securities assets. Fuck this AI bullshit. I called it being a horseshit bubble when I was 22 years old 4 years ago. I came home from a long night at the bars tooling around campus on a longboard in the middle of the night and got on discord with my cousin, who had just moved back from the Bay Area. There was this new thing called AI and it was going to turn into a real human and replace all labor. He was going to start an AI drone swarm firm and become a venture capitalist and bring the entire nation and its people to heel. I told him there was no fucking way you can model a human brain with a fucking graphics card and that this whole thing was a ponzi scheme which produced a very, very expensive search engine. He started waving "white papers" in my face. I told him they weren't peer reviewed. I started talking to him again lately and he told me Neuromancer predicted the future. I looked the book up and the author wrote it about the 70's debt and fuel crisis causing austerity. Well, I guess Neuromancer did predict the future after all. Good riddance. I wonder when they'll cut the teenagers off their free chatbots and make a Pro subscription $1,000 a month.

Only if the situation with Russia and Iran get resolved in a good way, then yes, those buying the dips will be massively rewarded. But if oil crashes then we're all fucked and recovery becomes uncertain. This isn't any kind of advice. Do what you think is best. I'd like to agree with you because I see the opportunity as well, but I'm uncertain because of the oil situation. Crashes happen all the time and are there to be taken advantage of. Question is what's causing the current crash and if there's recovery in sight?

Well if he means the older copper pennies not the modern zinc ones. They’re 4x their face value in melt value.

So hypothetically. If you could lay your hand of a batch of them of some sort. You could potentially nab a 4x return.

As to where you might find thousands of these together? Who knows. Shows you how much they’ve debased the currency. When the copper penny is worth more than the paper cent face value.

Copper was closed because it was considered cheap alternative to silver.

Because people are fleeing AI to their predetermined safe havens? Medicine and defense always go up in these circumstances, power and utilities too. As integrated as AI is into the current economy, is it essential for a human's survival? The answer to that is a resounding no. The technology might be revolutionary, but the fundamentals to maintain this level of growth may crumble before it bears fruit. Society the way we know it literally exists because of cheap energy (oil). Without it, we're essentially fucked. Remember what Germany did to its nuclear reactors.

In a practical sense outside of human economic constructs, yes, everything's still there and there's enough stuff and people around to keep things moving. But if you add the bullshit that humans make up, who owns who what and how much and by when and at what interest and so on and so forth, the answer becomes far more complicated and nuanced than everything being fine with AI shutting down tomorrow. The AI bubble is the biggest bubble in history. It will cause a crash never before seen. Ultimately this is a wealth transfer. Just as we talk about slurping up cheap stocks, the elites talk about slurping up what remains of the middle class.

I only really do for the fact that although AI companies have massive revenues they still haven't fully proven their business model, and the optimism over LLM and GPT utility is wearing thin. The productivity paradox is going to be a huge talking point for bubble predictions.

That said, the investment excitement over AI isn't really older than ~18-24 months, and market concentration for the top 10 S&P 500 stocks of which all are involved in AI, so there is alot of room to grow. It will only be when OpenAI does its IPO we'll hit the frenzied cycle of investment that leads to a crash once people realise all AI does is make some human prompt up a storm for 6 hours, then make some human check the results for 3.

Yeah, the timing always feels like it screws you over, no matter what. You do the research, you run the numbers, you ask the bots to look up anything you might've missed and it still isn't enough. It feels rigged at times. Perhaps it is to an extent with insider trading, with how big moves are made on Fridays after the markets close... all intentional bullshit likely done this way to displace accountability with plausible deniability. Motherfuckers... Still, you're not wrong going in on oil in this situation. Trump WILL attack Iran again. He's that deranged. Just keep your exit strategy updated day to day. Make sure the losses are like tops 10-20% of your total gains and not more. Don't get too greedy. You don't know when shit's gonna hit the fan and demand destruction will start meeting with company margins.

>This process has already begun a few months ago. It's September in the year 2000.

I don't see the NASDAQ down 77%.

Jokes aside, not a wrong assumption and not one I entirely disagree with either, but I think its hard to pinpoint that prior to the OpenAI IPO. The dot-com bubble was characterised by the the sheer volume of dot-com startups that were endemic to the US marketplace. AI meanwhile is characterised by basically 10-20 companies. Dot-com could carry on the momentum since everyone wanted to start an online business, but AI relies on massive plays by major companies. No one is gonna sell until the next big play.

For smart or stubborn who know their history it definitely feels like 2000 overall, but the majority are definitely optimistic or smoking the crack pipe of infinite growth, especially as the fear is in the economy itself but not so much in AI.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see some quiet selling off of AI stock by larger investors by this time next year, but for the majority they're expecting years of holding.

I said September 2000, not 2001. We're now coming down from the double top.
>Dot-com could carry on the momentum since everyone wanted to start an online business, but AI relies on massive plays by major companies.
It's the same motivation. FOMO. Just now we do it with direct investment rather than trying to start our own buisiness.
>but the majority are definitely optimistic or smoking the crack pipe of infinite growth,
True last year, not anymore. Now everyone is just lying about it. Coming up with ever more fantastical nonsense marketing gimmicks like pretending chatbots talking to eachother using directory names in a shared file system is an exestential threat to humanity and proves the tech is more than just a fucking chat bot. They know it's fucking joever and are just trying to extract as much as they can from bigger fools before it completely falls apart.
>>
how are we dumping this much with inflation coming in just 0.1% higher than target
>>

target is 0.1-0.2/month. it was 0.6.

So you decided to hold through the dump. I'll tell you what, come on in and ill give you the biz discount on that new suit you've been looking at. Just for you. After all, you'll want it to impress your potential new employer so you can make ends meet.

I guarentee it.
>>
>>62781761
0.3% is 50% higher than 0.2%, the expected value. 0.3% MoM annualized is 3.6%, meaning that core CPI is not slowing down, meaning that rate hikes are warranted.

Unfortunately the effects are basically the same, morons will continue to reinvest in AI and some gamblers will try to time the fake-hype. The companies know its over, but the market hasn't really shifted yet.

>Just now we do it with direct investment rather than trying to start our own buisiness.

Very tru but I do think this kind of encourages more growth as there is alot less risk throwing money at a stock compared to trying a start-up, the accessibility keeps driving the price.
>>
>>62781776

>0.3%

what if I told you 0.6% is 100% more than 0.3% and that it was actually more than 0.6% but they "seasonally adjusted it" and rounded a bunch of shit off and its still 0.6%
>>
>>62781756
Zelensky is an annoying kike, but no, Ukrainians would not stop wanting to resist the incursion of subhuman Russians just because he was gone. Also the problem is the iran war, not the Russo Ukrainian war.
>>
>>62781787
That's total CPI which includes fuel and food. Obviously 0.6% sucks ass, but oil ptice spikes are transient in the long term. That's why the fed focuses on core CPI, as it more accurately assesses true monetary devaluation, as opposed to temporary supply chain disruptions.

Happening status?

Both are the problem and both affect the system at different times due to how everything's structured, the relevant buffers, the VLCCs on the seas, strategic supplies, seasonal demand, etc... Russian refiners getting hit hurts diesel the most. Iran and Yemen retaliating against aggression hurts crude. So at first there's an oil glut because refining went down. But then there's a crude deficit on top of a diesel shortage as we enter the winter season. Remember that diesel is inelastic and cost directly translates onto everything else. Whatever Russia refined it also exported abroad. Now those countries seek it elsewhere at higher prices. So the bidding wars begin which further compound the problem...

>>

My point was that inflation is still bad even after you take out the transitory bits.
>>
>>62781831
Yeah because Russia was disconnected from SWIFT, remember? That's why you didn't see the markets react. But the reality is different. The shortages are real and they are starting to impact everything. There's only so much insulation and pretending the market can do before it has to face reality and start calling BS on the current situation. Unfortunately I wager that many will agree that bombing Iran will somehow magically resolve this... it will not...

The anon above you answered perfectly. The unfortunate truth...
>>
>>62781825
Yields should rise yeah, and the prices should fall, but you answered your own question- the demand is causing bondbros rushing to lock in these returns before inflation inevitably slows down. 10-year Treasury yields hovering above 5.2%, nothing wrong with snagging that if you trust that inflation won't be forever.

I think we'll know tomorrow for sure if things continue going red after TSMC revenue reports. It's a leap of faith.
