I'd be a millionaire right now if bears didn't trick me
I had been investing in bonds since 2014, and not touching equities.

I didn't even break even after inflation.
I calculated how much I'd have if I put my investments in SP500 instead for the last 12 years and it's over $1m
>>
you realize that bonds are guaranteed to lose money, right?
they have never been an investment, ever
that's the whole point, in fact
>>

I was told every day that there was going to be a stock market crash, and bonds would go to negative interest rates. And that would be when bought stocks.
>>
The market will collapse in 2 weeks. Please dont buy now, keep buying bonds hehe
>>
>>62797260
Lol you retarded faggot, you didn't think to buy at least SOME equities?
>>
>>62797383
Nope

Not even 1%

ALL bonds
mostly 10 year treasurys
>>

>I was told
by who? Van Metre?
>>
>>62797394
yes
the bond king
>>
>>62797268
>there was going to be a stock market crash
There were several.
>open SPY chart
>apply keltner channels
>set time frame to monthly
>when a candle wicks down to Kelt low, that's when you buy
It's literally that easy.

Why do people who insist on poisoning everyone with their dumb hypotheticals not even bother to have fun ones? Why not "i'd be a billionaire right now if I could use a time machine to know the lottery numbers in advance." Oh, it's unrealistic you say, but it's just as unrealistic as pretending that there's any scenario where you would have any amount of money other than what you have right now. Realistic means real-- dealing in reality, which you aren't doing for literally no benefit.

better luck next life

If it helps any, a million dollars has lost almost half of its value in that time
>>
>>62797523
So has my life savings
>>
I highly doubt bears ever recommended buying bonds
>>
>>62797540
Yeah but at least you slept very well not having to worry about stocks crashing. You cant put a price on good sleep
>>
I'm not trying to be gross, but you could only imagine the smell as the booty cheeks were parted and the stubbled asshole was winking in the moonlight. A slimy slit below the earth-stained abyss, gleeking bleach-white seed and gasping for breath. Leaves rustling in the wind, as if the scent was swinging like a monkey from branch to branch. Total silence from all wildlife, as if the putrid scent had obliterated all sentience, like a deadly chemical agent making its way across no man's land...

if you're a bear
it's all about gold and bonds. Maybe commodity producers.
>>

>I'd be a millionaire right now if bears didn't trick me
this except for me it was AI hardware. Coulda bought in december, sold in january, flipped back in in march, out in june and back in july and made 2.4 million dollars.
>>
>>62797711
Why not 6 million? Or 20 million? You're selling yourself short here. Surely in this alternate timeline where you truly realize the pile of gold you're sitting on, you'd just go completely all in & start taking out as many loans as possible.
>>
>>62797260
They didn't trick you. It was your choice.
>investing in bonds since 2014
lol. lmao, even.
>not touching equities
lol. lmao, even.
>I didn't even break even after inflation
yes. this is generally how bonds work.
>>62797268
you were told there would be a market crash *someday*. not that there would be a market crash tomorrow. and there have been multiple market crashes since 2014, yet you never took the opportunity to buy stocks. you did this to yourself.

the whole point of bonds is that they are slightly less bad than holding cash. the last time bonds were an actual investment was 1929-1937 when inflation went to -13% (aka massive deflation). it was proven decades ago that while the best investment strategy is total prescience, the second best (and most practical) is 100% stocks and hold.

Did you take profits whenever there was a stonks dip?

What vehicle/ticker are you in?
What spreads have you taken?
