They say "money doesn't buy happiness" but it would literally solve all my problems which would make me very happy.
>>62798724Same. All my problems would be solved in about 3 days with enough money.
1 million would unironically solve all of my problems, I wouldn't even need to work anymore.
>>62798724>$60k a year per personsome egg head did the math and this is the happy number. more money and your not as happy less and your not happy. something about a slight struggle to attain goals = happiness. buying everything you want instantly gives you no happiness/joy
>>62798762Nepo baby take
>>62798762that number is from 2016 economic data the real number is double or triple that.
money would solved 85%-95% of my problems and it would also make the remainder MUCH easier to deal with.
>>62798724I have a bitcoin stack and am kinda comfy financially and it basically solved all my problems and bought happiness. without my bitcoin stack i wouldn't be happy being the 9 to 5 wagie for life for 40 years. infact i went travelling and enjoying my life and then even met my gf (now 4 years later we just married) and we'll have a baby. also she can't take my bitcoin stack in divorce ever cause they are premarital assets and im not in the U.S.A where you get raped if you divorce
>>62798724Money does buy happiness especially if you have it early. So, "they" just lied, really.
>>62798895>especially if you have it earlyThis.Which is one of the reasons why jews and their custom of bar mitzvah is extremely practical. If you wage slave saving pennies your entire life, and "make it" at 60 or 70 it's too late for you to do anything real with it, and even if you try, you will lack relevant experience, vigor, energy and stamina. Good luck starting your first company at 70 after a lifetime of being a wagie. Good luck starting a non-fucked up family at 60 or 70 (only if you're a male, decades too late for a female already). If you get money in your late 20s or early 30s you can use it in an impactful way, it will change the trajectory of your entire life.
>>62798724No it wouldn't. Because when you have no problems, you will have boredom, and trying to cure boredom with money will fail once you've done everything you can do with money.
>>62798762That was a 2010 study from Princeton and another egg head from Wharton did a study that says there is no number happiness increase the more you make forever. https://www.cnbc.com/make-it/2022/04/22/wharton-psychologist-why-money-actually-can-buy-you-happiness.html
>>62798724Actually no. Solving your problems makes you happy, just having them be solved makes you unhappy. Hence the line.
>>62798814The spirit of this post is correct but please remember to frontrun your timeline complaint by fast forwarding the multipliers by a decade or so to give our comrades a real idea of what we need and when we need it done by. If you're complaint is submitted today 2026 may I suggest 10-15x so the minister gets the number right when it lands on his desk. Thank you.
>>62798724How does money fix the fact that you're a DORK?
>>62799022You’re on this website as well, retard. You’re as big of a dork as he is
>>62798724Sometimes it makes me sad to think about this. I really don't want to obsess over money, but it's technically the foundation for a more peaceful life, and for making others happy too
>>62798724Happiness is always a temporary state. Money makes life easier, but you'll just be happy temporarily about that ease of things. Peace, health, nice things, fun, ... money buys that too. Happiness about all of that still remains short term.
>>62798724but you'd just create more problems for yourself, the exact same sort of ones you have nowand then you need more money to get rid of them
>>62799183No I wouldn't.
>>62798789I wish i was :(all your problems are someone else's fault right?>>62798814>>62798979kek yes very dated now.Did any one else read the Wharton article?>if you say money is important then your happiness increases with money>if you say money is not important then happiness is not effected by money>anyone who starts making 10% becomes happiermoney doesn't make me happier because money can't buy the stuff I want. The stuff I want is rare, no longer produced, vintage and/or antique. Usually broken when I acquire it (for free) and requires repairs (which I have skills I learned for free from internet and practice)
>>62798729Didn't work for Putin.
>>62798724assuming after taxes for everything, $3 million would solve my immediate problems and allow me to reclaim my life from my job. not that my job is all that demanding, but there's still always that stress hanging above my head knowing that my entire well being is tied to making people that inherently hate me happy. $9 million would allow me to start my new life, completely retired, in a decent enough house to raise kids in. $30 million would let me start a life I've only dreamed of.
>>62798729>All my problemsAll is a very strong word
>>62798724If your problems are because of money, with more money you will find yourself with even more problems
>>62800660But it's accurate. My problems are:>I don't have a place to live and renting while possible would require drastic negative changes for multiple people, but not renting comes with own negatives>easy to fix and fully reversible health problems of mine and people I care about>debt, not much but still>job that will cease to exist probably within 2 years maxOther problems are minor annoyances at best, thankfully
>>62798724I'mma tell you the truth OP I was like you once, and then I got money and used it to solve my problems and now I still have small problems in my life but they're all self-inflicted as part of a process of self-improvement and self-actualization, so yeah money does solve problems and make you happy. Get grinding!
>>62799071Money, or rather not having money, is a problem. It's hard to ignore or live around a serious problem like not having money. But once you DO have money, and don't immediately spend it all, then the problem is solved and you can turn your attention to other things.Adblock and not consuming advertisting/propaganda goes a LONG way to reaching a point where you can spend less than you earn, no matter how little you earn.
>>62800686>>easy to fix and fully reversible health problems of mine and people I care about>and people I care about^this is a serious problem. You're never going to build capital if you save up money and then spend it on other people. You CANNOT save people who won't act to save themselves, unless they're impressionable children who you can then raise to be self-responsible.The only exception should be your wife because you want to keep her around despite her inherent laziness and death wish.Never spend money on improving the life of someone not in your immediate family, as in your wife or biological children. NEVER. You just have to let go.
>>62800844>You CANNOT save people who won't act to save themselvesThis is a little unorthodox but caller, how would you like to host this show?
>>62798724It does not buy happiness. As soon as you have enough money for basic needs, all bills and a little splurge every now and then, more does not make you any happier.
700k would fix all my problems that are fixable, i.e nothing I can do about my parents dying or the state of the world.
>>62801233Real talk is there a market for that? A heartless asshole telling people to be more ruthless in the pursuit of material goals and never backing down? Too bad I hate the sound of my voice in recordings.>>62801335Latest research is that happiness scales roughly logarithmically with wealth. So squishing that into a happiness scale of 1-10, having $10 is roughly one point of happiness, $100 is a 2, $1000 is a 3, and so on. Eventually you hit that inflection point of $100,000 to $1,000,000 and people are still counting in the tens of thousands and say see, money doesn't make you happier! When obviously billionaires tend to be happier than millionaires, and the trillionaire is generally happier than his mere 9 and 10 figure counterparts. So 10x your wealth to improve your marginal happiness. I'd say it's worth doing for everyone to pursue wealth accumulation until the point where you can live a modest life without needing employment: the point of becoming "idle rich." That's about a million bucks in liquid investments, with a very minor draw down across your life. Then you can choose to keep working to give your kids a head start if you want, but that's tricky because they're more likely to squander the hard earned money because they won't value it as highly as money they earned themselves.
The problems you have, whether big or small, tend to fill up your headspace. Problems will not go away, just change.
I am have employed which meant angry 24/7 and now I am retired and always feeling good.
>>62798729>>62798724The fix is only temporary, man needs his hero’s journey and overcoming your present obstacles are exactly that. What you need is a source of pride and fulfillment, not money.
>>62803709Okay then. You can set an alarm and wake up at 7am every morning.
Money buys comfort and stability, not happiness. Richfags kys themselves all the time. It’s not because of happiness either
I am 35 and have $2 million in bitcoin, probably $4 million in 2 years. My mother was absent growing up, my first and second girlfriend dumped me, I am terrified of women. how do I buy a woman? I can't fix my problem with money

>>62803740>Money buys comfort and stability, not happinessThis. My house is paid off, I’m not in debt, and I have enough money saved up to where I can go jobless for years and not have to worry. Yet I’m miserable. And there are people with less who are genuinely happy.

>>62803930>My house is paid off, I’m not in debt, and I have enough money saved up to where I can go jobless for years and not have to worry. Yet I’m miserableSkill issue. Yeah it's mean to say but while money is NECESSARY for happiness, it is not by itself SUFFICIENT.See picture. Money handles the bottom two, and part of the middle tier. The second from the top requires society to approve of a person, and so depends on how autistic someone is in how important that layer is to them. Top layer is how much you love yourself which you can train yourself to do by setting small and large personal goals, working at them consistently, and making regular achievements.Seriously personal happiness is a solved problem. Yeah some individuals haven't yet done the work to solve their particular instance of the problem, but we know how to do it.PS also money helps with the Esteem layer, literally just dress and groom well and that's half of societal approval right there. Most people are shallow and judge off surface impressions.
>>62798724I won £45k this year and it's basically ruined my life. Getting thrown off benefits because of it and endless stress trying to avoid spending too much or investments going wrong.
I am retired and let me tell you something m, I just spent 3 hours making spaghetti and beef shank and cleaning the dishes after. When you’re retired, these things become work. And now in a couple minutes, I have to vacuum the kitchen.
Fuck whoever said/says that.I have enough ideas of things to do with infinite money that I wouldnt be bored.

I don't even need more disposable income than today. Being relieved from attending work without the need to handle the mortgage would improve my life immensly. It's almost out of the question to have a baby when I spend 11 hours almost every day to go to the fucking office. For now I live in a low income neighborhood, far outside of town, since that was my only realisic option to own something with more than one bedroom fresh out of college.
