There's always a chance that the market doesn't recover ever again though. I'd say that would happen in the event of a nuclear war. So unless you think we're headed there in a year's time, I wouldn't worry about it. You did calculate your average gains for holding these for over 1 year, right? You'd get around $1k at the end of the year, depending on entry/exit and if it's a normal year or a crash year.
