I put $100K into a 4% APY. How retarded am I?
It's a no penalty CD so I can take it out at anytime.
>>
I'm not sure that 4% is going to be enough to beat the inflation that's coming.
>>
what is the ca?
>>
>>62814758
what does that mean?
>>62814743
Honestly my rationale was to park the money here for a bit until there are some more attractive market opportunities in the near future (2 weeks???)
It's my understanding that the stock market is overvalued at the moment and that the fundamentals don't support them.

If you're bearish, but don't have the balls to actively go short, it's the reasonable thing to do.
>>
>I can take it out anytime

Then it’s inconsequential. Why do you need approval
>>
>>62814836
You are correct anon, I'm risk averse
>>62814841
It was more so to spur conversation on where folks are parking their cash. I like learning what other people are doing to see if there's anything I can incorporate

I mean…it’s better than keeping it in the bank. CDs are haram though. Put it in a Wahed account or something that is shariah compliant. Akhi, you have to start thinking about your afterlife. Once you do that, Allah will reward you with things you never expected, inshaAllah

Why cash? Cash sucks.
Ever heard of lazy portfolios? Educate yourself. Read OPTIMIZED PORTFOLIO. Get rich slowly...

For this reason >>62814816
I will look into what you said

VUSXX is 3.9% and you don't have to lock your money up in a CD, why would you do this?
>>
>>62814816
It's pointless trying to time the market, all you are doing is driving your volatility up. Either put in a lump sum or DCA, don't kid yourself you can see the future.

Bitcoin lost the 50 day, nigga it's over

Why would you put it in a bank CD when you could earn a higher rate buying US treasuries? You can earn this rate holding it passively on X Money and earn 3% on all spending with full FDIC. Lol

Just buy a revolving 3 month treasury through Treasury Direct or Fidelity.

Easiest for me was changing over to fidelity where cash sweep is auto into SPAXX, at 3.52% today. No remembering to move cash like at schwab out of 0.1% sweep after sales or deposit, and no 30 day lock up on using MMF cash as collateral for selling options. Also money is immediately available for purchase when the time comes, no extra steps. Their cash management account can also be your ATM checking account which deposits into SPAXX. Highly recommend fidelity for ease of use.

how is that different than sgov?

Thats a terrible return but if you value the safe return go for it. I prefer to sell cash secured puts with my idle cash for much higher profits.

I'll look into this, thanks lads

>>62814816
I have the same exact plan. Go all in bonds, wait for -10% from ath in stocks, buy back in. Albeit, the fact that this idea is suddenly popular makes me think its retarded.
