this is a fucking travesty. nuclear is clearly the only solution to energy scarcity which is only going to accelerate.

hopefully ai can talk some sense into people once it's sufficiently advanced and people will simply submit to its superior arguments.

In China? The Hualong and CAP series are deployed on a massive scale along the Chinese coast, both for electrical applications and for thermal applications in the petrochemical industry in combination with HTR-PM high-temperature gas reactors. Molten salt reactors and integral fast reactors reach commercial maturity and are deployed at scale.

Elsewhere? Expensive disappointment.

Look up Marathon Fusion - Alchemy.
>Perfected stable gold creation (5Tonne a year) reactors of stable gold via Mercury reaction, generating not only stable gold but electricity energy.
Yeah I'm thinking gold is fucked once this reactor goes online and the you will see these reactors getting huge adoption. Goodbye mercury
>>
>>62817139
>The gold would be radioactive at first. The paper says it would need 7 to 17 years of storage to cool down. Other mercury isotopes would also form unstable gold isotopes alongside gold-197. That makes isotopic purification of the feedstock a real cost.

How do you feel about Oklo and SMR in general? I think the are into something with recycled fuel. All the shills against them is from Chinese Niggers living in my computer so idc. It’s a twenty year hold minimum and the price is where I wanted to start entering around. Blah blah my dilutions but they are making regulatory head winds

Let's produce energy for a few years but in exchange we will have to take care of the waste it produces for thousands of years...

I said the same thing and saw doomberg shit talking nuclear in comparison to gas plants. I invested heavily into nuclear producers and I'm tired boss. Western finance can continue to say its not feasible because its too incompetent to finish projects and just do a 180 on emissions focusing on consumer autos as an offset. They may choose the same on rare earths deciding being a chinese vassal state is preferrable to being competent in and putting capital into anything other than tech. Naturally I had put a bunch of money there as well to likewise set on fire.

The Fortess initative may see a revival of small cell nuclear and domestic mining but I've given up hope on anything other than DCAing all the way to zero. Atleast other countries getting heemed on gas imports for generation will likely see nuclear as a necessity as years worth of fuel for a nation could be stored in a couple of warehouses and seeing america as unreliable source for energy given their emotional volatility and treatment of supposed friends.

All focus of news seems to be on battery tech to make renewables more viable, meanwhile the PJM is in a state of emergency.

OKLO comes in and solves the waste problem or at least presents a solution to it. only like what 2-3% of fuel in traditional reactors is used before being disposed of?

Nope.
It's Germans. These fucking retarded aspergers.
Chernobyl was an USSR-grade design with modulator rods that accelerate instead of absorb, shit procedures, shit technology, shit training.
Germans freaked out and started a worldwide campaign taking their idiocy, ignorance and irrational fear and passing the worse anti-environment blunder in energy history as "green" conflating anything but nuclear with their usual aspie greenwashing.
Germans just ruined Europe for the third time in roughly one century, filling it with their idiocy and braindamage for green coal, green gas, Russia's shit, rapefugees welcome, bureaucracy and paperwork, ludicrous overregulation and cookie warnings.
These morons are good for top-down orders, provided there's a good leader (hasn't been in a century), doing one million times the same thing (hence quality in industrials) but have zero free will, zero common sense, zero improvisation, zero innovation, zero opportunism and zero understanding of anything that matters in human life. They also developed a loser mentality after two world wars and Björn is very understanding if a nigger rapes his daughter. They're into being shitted on, LITERALLY, scat porn is near mainstream.
These autist retards are the main, chief reason why Europe sucks.

The development and roll out of miniaturized and decentralized nuclear power generation has been artificially suppressed for too long. I think after the brewing world war wipes out all the centralized generation plants small-footprint nuclear will become very widespread.
>>62817787
That's not really possible.
>>
>>62817950
>muh chernobyl
You mean the incident where they had to override every single safety protocol manually because the system was working as designed but it was left under the management of slavs?

The incident that still only had one of 4 possible core meltdowns, and never even stopped service?
That disaster?
True it fucked up the local area for a solid century, but they tried REALLY hard to fuck it up as hard as they did. It could have only been worse with africans or indians running the show

>mini nuke plants
MIT put out a design of a nuke reactor on wheels about the size of a free candy van that used ceramic encased fuel balls to juice up small towns up to a few thousand people. That was decades ago
>>
While nuclear energy is cool and everything a neat little by-product gem is inserting materials into the core and making funky isotopes, the busienezs of which will far surpass revenue gained from power generation itself and also have an, as of yet, unforseen diversity of applications.

I think there's going to be a resentful adoption of it as nothing else is really ready to take on the increased energy loads we're demanding. The AI datacenter situation is, love it or hate it, spiking energy demand through the roof on grids that were already projected to be severely overtaxed in a decade or two. Once it becomes clear that wind, solar, tidal, and geothermal tech simple are not coming to the rescue, and once it becomes clear that compute is a national strategic resource comparable to oil, steel, and food, you'll see a desperation pivot. Once that starts, you'll probably see an explosion in attempts to privately provide nuclear energy.
>>
>>62817950
The anti-nuclear movement was already in full swing years before 1986.
>>
>>62817855
The ability to use fast neutron reactors to burn spent fuel has been known for many decades. It hasn't happened at scale because it isn't remotely close to being economical. The only ones doing it are the Russians, and only at very small scale.
>>
>>62815290
Any nuclear stocks you buy now will 10 bag and then some by 2030.

Nuclear energy is the only answer to our AI + air conditioning power consumption
>>
>>62820159
Wind and solar are very scalable. They also have the convenience of being very modular, very easy to install (relatively speaking), and very rapid to install (at least, from the customer's perspective). For electrical applications, nuclear is competitive only where weather isn't cooperative or where you have a very competent nuclear construction industry already up and running (e.g. in South Korea or China). For thermal applications, nuclear blows wind and solar out of the water, but the only ones who seem interested in using nuclear for thermal applications at scale are the Chinese.

Once more boomers start dropping dead, we will see more nuclear plants being built in this country. Boomer have caused irreparable damage to the nuclear industry with their anti-nuclear activism. Both left and right-wing boomers are responsible for the mess, they're either anti-nuke hippies or NIMBYs who are absolutely convinced that their property values will drop because a plant was built 100 miles away from their vacation house.

Yes for sparsely populated scorching wastelands and the occasional line of wind turbines along a ridge. Too bad if you're north of Paris (solar) or flat (every other country), or have no room for them/better use for land.
Better than these is hydro. Truly the best if you have mountains, can also build the best and longest lasting battery ever, and can save potential energy and dose efficiently. Terrific for power grids.
Okay.
What happens when you've built every dam you can, used every ridge, and every sunny wasteland and building roof?
What happens at night, on no wind or during Summer with no rains?
Green gas and green coal like a German faggot?
Nuclear is the only reliable base generation that, at the same time, comes with no extra CO2 or depends on oil countries.
Go figure what every country needs to build as desperately as any other self-sufficient solution.
>>
>>62820284
No they really aren't. And that's not even discussing replacement materials: those composite devices (the PV cells and the turbine blades) can't be broken back down into recyclable parts, they just get thrown onto the garbage pile at a FAR higher rate of volume than nuke waste. Energy production is dirty and wasteful; nuclear plants are the least wasteful tech we've found yet
