It feels like my entire ability to get a job was a zero interest rate phenomenon and I've been coasting on it since then.I know this is said all the time but it feels like all the low hanging fruit was picked in the 2010s, in terms of the standards being lower. I read a series of blog posts about Slack being built and even though it's an objectively great product, everything in it had the whiff of 2010s ZIRP that got to ride the cloud and mobile and even internet wave. You need a math Olympiad to be like that these days.I think my habits are stuck there as well. After using AI more, my first inclination has been to do early 2010 stuff but more efficiently: a shitty 2D indie game, shitty YouTube video essays. But that crap is pathetic now.
