Can I finally buy this bad boy when it all crashes to nothing?
>>
>>62836058
FSR is dogshit compared to glorious DLSS fake frame machine.
>>
its not crashing, just a temporary setback. Everything will go back to normal by the end of next week
>>
Nah, they will landfillmaxx these before selling to retail to cheap.
>>
>>62836135
I will dig them up
>>
>>62836046
Two rtx 5070ti are cheaper and faster
>>
>Business and finance
<advertising electro-waste
for all my generative model demands the 1080ti is still more than enough. there is literally no reason to ever upgrade
>>
>>62836046
they'll destroy all of the GPU's they've stockpiled right in front of a crowd of gamers begging to let them purchase them, just like in Grapes of Wrath.

Data center chips are not the same as consumer chips
Also no lmao dumb waitfag

I desperately need a 20 tb external hard drive for under 200. It's like 800 now
>>
I just need some RAM at normal price
>>
A literal trillion worth of super overpriced 100 to 500gb gpu with no video output and 1500w power pull will rot, lol.

I’m looking forward to playing Minecraft on a Vera rubin

I bought a sapphire pulse for like 650 bucks a few months ago and now it's going for closer to 1k, this is fucking nuts

I have a computer with a 5090, but I'm about to move into my car and the thought of having something so expensive that can be stolen anytime I'm away from my car has me sweating bricks.

Paid 125 dollars for 32 gb ddr5 in early 2024 and now it's like fucking 600 dollars. I'm glad I lucked out but I really hate this timeline
>>
>>62836398
No they arent but the massive oversupply of datacenter gpus will crash their prices, meaning Nvidia will go right back to mass producing the still profitable 5090 and it will not only go back to MSRP, it will go fucking below it.
>>
>>62840027
When they start making GPUs for the consumer market again, they will be gimped in some way to prevent them from running local AI at reasonable speeds. Remember LHR?
>>
>>62840486
Well I dont give a shit unless it affects my ray tracing and fake frames

did i fuck up? i always thought system ram was completely separate / inferior to vram, so I didnt invest a lot into the latter

Larper. A real man knows to put it his mouth so it destroys the brainstem.
>>
>>62836150
5070 Tis have gone up $500 over the last two weeks and are almost gone.
>>
>>62843094
You can still get a 128GB (4x32) DDR4 kit for about $1,000 but they're going fast. The 64GB kits are more available. The basic rule of thumb is DRAM = 2 x VRAM.
>>
>>62836166
both Crypto and AI are Nvidia scams to sell their products
only few understand
>>
>>62836819
It's a modern tragedy before our eyes.
>>62839305
Maybe get insurance on it. It's a crazy world. Whatever you do, if you sling it out on the street in some meetup off the internet, pack some heat and bring a buddy.
>>
>>62843203
>(4x32) DDR4
I'm on 2x16 already obviously, is upgrading to 4 of them really worth it?
or should I get 2x32 with my 2x16 now?
>>
>>62843248
>is upgrading to 4 of them really worth it?
If your programs run fine with 32, no.
>or should I get 2x32 with my 2x16 now?
All RAM sticks have to be identical or they don't work together. That means same size, same timings, same manufacturer etc.
>>
>>62843200
Wtf happened? I got one for 900 three months ago.
>>
>>62843319
Well hopefully both our 5070ti's won't die on us.
>>
>>62836046
>nothing
EVER HAPPENS
>>
>>62836046
Even if everything crashes tomorrow the prices will not normalize for 6-9 months and by that time there will be 6090 or something similar because nvidia will be in panic mode and will not be able to sell 2.5 years old card for 2k. This will also not sell well second hand because they are fragile and can't wait to die but still useful for small local models. 5090 will be the same 3090ti was.
>>
>>62843296
Not true. The system will just run at whichever specs are the lowest.

if you have 2 sticks and one 3200 MHz and one is 3600, the system will just downclock the faster stick to match
>>
>>62836046
yo my farts are smelling hella stinky today wtf
>>

2 year old tech, I'm waiting for the 6090

prices are still going up despite the stock market being full of the gayest panic selling pussies imaginable, so no
>>

You will have to wait 10+ years

It'd genuinely be dumb since there's huge amounts of RTX 6000 with 96GB just sitting around unplugged. When the bubble pops all of them will be dumped on the market.

Trust me, Linux is actually fine now.
>>
>>62845986
Not for a gamer.
>>
>>62845981
Same with the memory, they were buying just to deny competitors the hardware. Most of it is sitting in warehouses waiting for the datacenters and powerplants to be built. By the time all that is made, the hardware will be obsolete.
>>
for what? you can run any game with far less and you can rent ai. unless you think ai will be censored. and well yeah thats true.
>>
SK Hynix is booked through 2030, if anything memory is gonna get worse

used 3090's on ebay are now at $2,000, I bough one used in 2024 for $500
>>
>>62845986
Linux is fine, you're absolutely right. It's a great os. But so is windows 11.

Genuinely curious what game you would need this for? Modern games are kind of ass anyway

>>
>>62836046
it'll take forever, the kike nigger faggots of the tech industry need their bubble to massively fucking burst before they realise selling to the consumer is a good idea again
>>
>>62845135
and I dont think the size matters either, you can mix 2x16 with 2x32 just fine. just dont put mismatched ones into the dual channel ones
>>

I have an 8k TV.
>>

4K games and PCVR with the Quest 3 on my 5070 ti.
>>

>>
>>62847340
My computer has never reset for no reason and has never installed shit that I don't know about.
>>
>>62849003
Windows does that shit all the time.
>>
>>62849009
Since when? I have insiders build of windows enterprise and get to choose when updates are installed. I can also see on my antivirus anything that was installed. Tinfoil hat off please.
>>
>>62849021
I never shut down my computer, is always on. Some days in the morning the computer has rebooted on its own and has updated shit without my permission. This is normal windows shit. Stop being a retard
>>
>>62849057
I never shut down my pc either. Windows 11 enterprise allows you to override the forced shutdown. I don't expect you to know that since you seem retarded.
>>
>>62849063
Are you an actual mongoloid? With Linux you dont need to override anything, because it actually is your computer.
Imagine talking like 'hey the os allows you to do things' or 'the forced shutdown can be avoided'
Even worse, that is actually possible only with the enterprise version, that you have to pay a subscription to be able to use. Why dont you go to lick Bill Gates boots too?
>>
>>62845988
i play most of my games on cachyos linux now with Steam
>>
>>62836046
>When it crash to nothing
By the time you has already older by 5 years and newer card has already ahead of it time.
>>
>>62849057
You need to not be retarded. I have my pc set to win 10 version whatever and it will never try to update again. Heard of masgrave at all? Probably shouldn't mention that to morons.
>>
>>62849526
How are the NVIDIA drivers?
>>
>>62843094
If you want to use llms you can compensate with two pcie 5.0 nvme drives, many inference engines are experimenting with streaming.
>>
>>62849714
Good. You can put custom options at Steam launch settings too to get higher performance.
The only games I wouldn't play on linux are games with odd setups less gpu driver support like racing simulation, vr, midi instruments

>>
>>62843094
Depends on what you're doing but unless you're editing very substantial audio and video files or doing insane multitasking you won't need more than 32GB of RAM. Unless your stuff is constantly crashing at random moments, you most likely have enough ram. .
>>
>>62848291
What are you, a jew
>>
>>62849099
I know exactly about Linux and windows. Why do you care so much? You can't even play most games properly anyway lol
>>
>>62849099
Also you're wrong about not needing to override things in Linux, it can be a pain in the ass when grub2 decides to not load e.g software raid issues, failed kernel updates, and so on. I've had enough experience with Linux on the desktop to put me off for life.

But yeah, why do you care so much? Windows works for me. And I don't have to pay for it either.

Kek. Aren't mobile phones for the next gen regressing?

>>62845986
Lol, lmao even. Most PC users under 40 are likely gaming. No thanks not using Linux. I'll stick with Windows for now, maybe Gabe will make SteamOS a full fledged OS some day, then I can go from Windows to SteamOS.
>but le SteamOS is Linux!!!!!
So then why so many offshoots? Nope, it's its own offshoot that just werks for gaming, rather than having a bunch of dumb design choices that are user unfriendly. Not touching all the lame Linux offshoots that are basically just different flavors of unfriendly user design. I can just wait for Gabe to make full fledged OS and us that instead without all the dumb design choices the majority of Linux fanboys love.

>Kek. Aren't mobile phones for the next gen regressing?
I think I heard they were because goys can't be having too much juicy RAM now. It should all belong to data centers.
>>
>>62849956
Same applies, I upgraded from 16GB to 64GB to do local AI before the price spike since the training crashed but that was with an 8GB card that ran out of space and offloaded onto the RAM. Once I upgrades to q 16GB VRAM card I don't need 64GB RAM and 32GB would be fine.
