>"oh boy, I can't wait to buy this shit and never work again"
If I spent the last 5 years grinding as hard as possible instead of part time working part time unemployed I would probably have enough to retire to thailand already.

There was a period where investing in things like bitcoin and nvidia during the early 2010s was The Move but if you were too young or poor to do so at that time, you missed the window forever and everything after is high risk cope.

shorting AI stocks is the next big thing now

How much do you need to retire in Thailand? I don't mean living in a hut in some slum where you have to constantly worry about people wanting to kill or rob you

The second half of your post. I don't know how much but I'd like a few hundred thousand. You can obviously "live" there on a few thousand but you'd run out after a year or two.

The difference between now and then is that you could buy stuff and make money by holding it. Leverage trading is like playing slots. 99.9999% of the time you lose. The house might throw a couple dollars your way to keep you hopeful but it's an insiders game

The place is probably saturated with a bunch of foreigners who had the same idea of retiring there. Im sure the prices have gone up because of that. I just want to get out of the US desu. I have at least another 30 years before I can officially retire and that's if they don't increase the age. It's fucking hopeless to continue staying here

>hopeless to continue staying here
why? are you retarded or otherwise disabled? it's actually much harder for a retard to survive elsewhere in the world, you're just gonna bring your retardation with you, but into a place where you don't know anyone or anything. you just don't realize how good you have it here until you try living (surviving) somewhere else.

You should have been grinding and living frugally to invest even more in whatever shitcoin you bought.

Even when/if I make it to 65, who knows what the country will be like in 30 years. The dollar doesn't go as far as it used to and I expect it will only continue getting worse. No one is saying it will be easy living in a foreign country, anon. Learning a new language and culture is tough. Then there's the issue of being accepted by the locals. I get all that, but as long as you don't act like an arrogant tourist, I think most people would be fine. Obviously every country will be different but we're talking about retirement friendly places, not some random village in South America

Be well my Turkish/Indian/Arab friend. I'm sorry your country was bombed.

I had Nvidia and AMD in 2019 but lost my job in 2020 and had to sell everything to cover living costs, and I knew about bitcoin from /g/ when it was sub $10 but never bought any but it's better that I didn't. If I had bought BTC back then, I'd 1000% have sold it at some point and that would have been way way worse for my mental. A ton of people bought bitcoin back then, it's buying and for some reason never selling AND not losing it or getting hacked, that's what makes the subset small. If I had bought any I'd have sold when it hit $100 or whatever other arbitrary value and regret it forever instead of being one of many things that I didn't take part of.

bitcoin isn't a shitcoin.

If browns won't leave I'm going to go to their country and fuck their teenage niece, it's really that simple. This is what they asked for, it's always funny to me when those "people" get upset about wealthy japs and westerners move to their country for pussy after a gorillion of their people moved to our countries for work.
