What are the non-convention cosplay events like in your area anon? It seems like the amount of small events near me have blown up in the last year. This weekend I'm going to an Ouran host club cafe, cosplay beginners workshop and a Higaruma from JJK look alike contest.

They're always full of the same people I see at local cons-- the ones who actually come for the event instead of the party crowd, which is hardly surprising. If there are any series-specific cos events I've never seen them, it's either an "anime" (barely) rave or a themed night at the arcade
