As a con it's very oldhead, in attendees and things to do. It's also noticeably more political than anything else I know in the state. Don't be too surprised either, when you see that the venue is kinda small. On the unofficial side, 5 gulls handle the party side and we've had great reception till now

the scene is so dry ive been attending to one offs and cosplay raves (like the ones in baoshi) and theyre fine i guess but in the end its just people drinking eating or dancing or just talking
that place is not suited for a party but sure whatever

metro is a fine con
some years are okay some years are hype and if you go with friends its better

i always go to it every year and i end up having a blast anytime i do
the dates this year is im not gonna lie kinda weird kinda off but whatever

but i have been critical over the years because its practically the same thing over and over between the chess matches and the fire show and the masquerade if anyones not too drunk to understand the story and dance time

theres no 18+ stuff and metro is a party con however last year they mentioned WHY theres no 18+ stuff


inna nutsack they making metro family/friendly and for entertainment only and theyre "not equipped or educated" enough to check ID and why they dont serve alcohol there

There’s also a history of Roy and team dynamite and insurance. That’s why. The convention center serves alcohol. Metrocon was the typical front runner of staff picking up underage girls, take them to rave, alcohol involvement and well what do you know, she was under 18.

Granted from the stories I’ve heard she was telling everyone she was over 21 finishing university and had a 18+ wrist band but this is decade old news as well.

Supercon and Miami cons are much worse in that aspect compared to central Florida cons.

there isnt much i can say other than the spirit is there but the location never ever do it again

I think the West Palm location is okay, but they'll probably max out the size they can grow to if they're there. It's a good spot for something like Miraicon to grow into, they're already way too big for a fucking hotel.

I see what you mean, but I'm free for that weekend now and the events look good enough. The spacing between shows I'm interested in is also favorable for recharging my photo perv equipment, and I feel confident in bringing out the combined GDP of Somalia level gear since the photo policy is nice. Also I met a cute persona panther cosplayer a few months back that insisted metro was better than holmat, and though she is 100% fucking wrong, the red latex alone or whatever she's working on is going to be worth the cost of admission.

same anon, I was actually able to go the whole weekend because my gigachad friend was able to secure free badges and my honest opinion for Metro is that if I had to pay I would honestly be pissed. Not a lot of things that excited me at the con,vendor hall was ehhh,didnt go to any panels they were ungodly boring, however everyone I talked to were super cool and nice, we Florida boys really are good people.Only cosplayed for one day because it was a last minuet change of plans but a lot of people talked to me because of my costume and a good amount of the attendees were cosplayers in general I noticed, to give my final consensus the con was whatever but had a great time talking to people!
