Cosplaying used to be something only the ugly fat girls liked to do.It used to require sewing skills, wood/plastic sculpting skills and also painting skills. Most of the people couldn't put enough time to do it.The existing women would receive a lot of attention back then no matter how ugly they were. Not being fat was a huge plus bonus.But now, any women can buy the outfit done from China, done with pro quality better than most can do. Any new anime of the season will already have a cosplay outfit selling in China.Doing the cosplay of one character first would be something that used to draw a lot of attention, now anyone can buy it ready from China faster than ever.And more and more women are doing cosplay, because it gives them views on social media.Now the ugly nerdy women can't compete in any way with the pretty women doing the job.Do you agree they stole this hobby from the fat ugly women???

I've been in the cosplay scene for almost 25 years and there have always been plenty of attractive girls. I dated multiple 8+ girls in the days before Facebook pages, Patreon, Onlyfans, etc. even existed, and those girls made their own costumes.

>>10971785The store bought stuff prevents a lot of people from ever making their own costumes because they can either start with a really shitty costume and learn or have something kind of okay and never learn. The temporary high embarrassment from having a shit first-time cosplay is now optional and most people would rather have a low lifetime embarrassment of wearing chink premades.
