Both the idolfest and Idolspace acts seem to be pretty good this year. This is my second year at Otakon and I'm excited to actually check the idols out this year.
>>
are idols in multiple groups common anymore? it seems like being spread across several projects could make it difficult to take any one of them seriously.
>>
>>10973811
the maids are the only high quality performers and even that is an underemployed part time job where some of them work less than once a week.
>>
Jesus Christ I'm so sick of roro being force fed to people in every next stage event
>>
>>10973853
they have good music and sound good live vocally. there's no force feeding needed when they have fans. you just don't happen to be one of them.
>>
>>10973854
I'm sorry but if you think their music and performance is good then any opinion you have is worthless to this thread.
>>
>>10973853
Roro sounds and looks good live, has a good strong concept, and fans. I wouldn't call that force fed, that's earned.
>>
>>10973860
you want talented idols or only skinny ones?
>>
Roro are a talented duo with fun original music, someone hates them out of jealousy because theyre getting themselves out there. Sucks to be you.
>>
Y'all think meotashi and dietshampoo are still friends
or did she just go from one piggy bank to another when forming reso
>>
>>10973860
their music is fine and they sound fine live. tell us what about either is so bad without making it vendetta? also dont say sorry. hate with your full chest if youre gonna hate.
>>
>>10973860
Their song is pretty good quality compared to the solo trash I've seen jubesy do in the past. But gotta say they're boring asf to watch live.

>>10973866
Let's not pretend that whale wasn't what was bringing in the viral posts

there are no talented morbidly obese idols. if you're depressing to look at you can't spark joy.

So Big Angel in Japan doesn’t have fans? Bullshit.

lets be fr please, there is a huge gap between the big angel members and the girl from roro

Has anyone seen Hazel from MagiaNote recently? Hazel has always needed to clear her image properly as an "idol" but she needs to do so more than ever because of her recent posts. I have no problem with idols speaking up about mental health but her posts are just very messy and all over the place.

Wtf is going on in socal?
>>
>>10973885
talented and successful are not the same thing.
big angel are supported by enablers that fetishize or sate their own narcissism from seeing girls unhealthy. their songs are memes. they have more appeal on sns than idol shows because their youtube channel generates clicks the same way someone like nikocado does.
they get respect from other idols and industry professionals for generating revenue and being successful but that's not the same thing as being talented or being an idol. they are just entertainers that exploit the word idol to get more views.
>>10973888

someone from the last thread mentioned this. who's posted the story?

anon didn't argue whether they are talented or not. they said they have fans, which is true. whatever the reasons people have, they are fans.

I think I'm officially over the kaigai idol community.

I really convinced myself it could become something bigger than what it is. There are still people I like and a few performers I think have real potential, but the community as a whole just feels like one giant hugbox. Say literally anything about improving as a performer and suddenly you're the villain. Apparently expecting someone to sing on pitch and dance on beat while performing in front of an audience is asking for professional-level talent now.

People always say everyone is "doing their best," and sure, maybe they are. That doesn't magically make the performances good. A lot of the music is painfully average. Unimpressive in the looks department. Half the personalities blur together because everyone is chasing the same vibe and no one wants to offend anyone.

The funniest part is that it doesn't even seem like people care about building actual fans. Everyone just wants approval from other idols, wota, and event organizers. It's one big circle of people hyping each other up for no real reason.

And don't even get me started on the clout chasing. Why am I seeing wota selling acrylic stands of themselves? That's genuinely one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I know Japanese wota have their own popularity contests, but I really expected Americans to be less weird about it. Guess not.

At the end of the day, it feels like artistry comes last. Music comes last. Performance comes last. The social club comes first.

Turns out I gave this community way more credit than it deserved. Baka desu me.
>>

>>10973930

>>
>>10973930
What about those idols you paid to come to your private birthday party? Are you done with them too Joe?
>>
>>10973930
Anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear could have told you there is nothing of worth in the kaigai community.

They are all just larpers trying to be like the idols in Japan but without the charm and effort. All I see them do is farm drama since that is the only thing they can do to garner attention.

They really are not worth being called "idols" whatsoever.
>>
>>10973930
i feel bad for phoebe and pengy called you friends once.
>>
>>10973930
This is why the smart ones are leaving the community. Or at least distancing themselves.
>>
>>10973934
Not whoever that is.

>>10973942
Not this person either.

>>10973946
Exactly.

Pretty rude of you all to assume I'm a man kek
>>
>>10973930
I guess your tweets going back to getting 0 likes again after your little temper tantrum made you upset, so now you have to come on 4chan and bitch and whine about how bad the kaigai idol community is because you realized you can’t pay your pay your way into friendship or a girlfriend anymore. You’re so pathetic, Joe. The community is better off without you in it, not that you were ever involved in the first place aside from paying idols to sing and dance for you at your private “convention” (birthday party) like prostitutes.
>>
>>10973948
Whoever Joe is why don't you message him this directly? Unless Joe is a lurker, he's not reading this.

And see? This is why I'm over you people. Your point of view is so small. You assume some presumably bald male incel is writing this when in fact this sentiment is held by someone far outside of that image.

The tea is amusing though desu.

>There are still people I like and a few performers
The proportion of good to bad performers is irrelevant.
The majority of japanese idols are bad too and most fans find a single group to follow.
There are kaigai groups that rival a mid tier Japanese group despite singing in non native language. I don't think there's any idol groups in Japan that could do that with english.
>>
>>10973968
"The majority of japanese idols are bad too"
cope
>>
If i wanted to see people just dance i would watch dance groups not dancing cosplayers that call themselves idols
>>
>>10973968
Joe you are so obvious it's insane. You're making the exact points you made on Twitter and you're not even being subtle about it. At least you took the advice to take it to 4chan where it belongs.

Who is Joe even

Can we get a decent conversation going? What Idolspace stages look worth it for Ota. Going to Anibeat, Now Presenting is always hit or miss, I might skip this year. A lot of the Idolspace stuff looks to be newer idols/groups? Anyone worth the watch?

idols and shitty behavior go hand in hand

>>10973934
>>10973948
idk who joe is but whoever it is, doesnt change the fact that >>10973930 is spitting facts. god forbid someone points out a problem out loud, instead of considering what was actually said the mob shows up with pitchforks, shifting blame and spreading shit with no proof. this community lost any standard, let alone a conscience, and that says alot about the characters operating in it

>>10974044
a good handful of them arent actual idols, they are larpers. call them as they are
>>
>>10974095
You’re actually so right and I’m totally corrected. Reminds me of an uma musume group that didn’t even know their own characters, fucking larpfest
>>
I'll try to say this nicely, because I used to really love the KaiGai community but I fully agree with the fact that it has felt completely stagnat, and that some are larpers.

Instead of a community trying to grow itself, it feels like a "you have to keep in line" monthly friendship talent show. (All a facade btw). There are a few that I feel like have gotten better at performing, but they put to much into other areas or trying to also prop up their friends instead of putting real money and effort to become something more.

I blame inclusive liberalism.
>>
>>10974158
people expect you to support a beginner because theyre a beginner rather than expect that beginner to earn fans AFTER they improve.

senior community members do this, newbies, wota, staff, everyone expects you to cheer on a beginner just becsuse theyre a beginner. I could never expect someone to cheer me on solely because I'm a beginner. I'd rather earn that support through actual improvement.
>>
>>10974158
>I blame inclusive liberalism.
you sound like a fat ugly loser.
how come this isn't a problem in california despite being the "woke" state.
maybe stop blaming your environment and blame yourself. you know bootstraps and what not.
>>
Ugh not Jenny Hayes creating an independent idol event next year like she's a fucking messiah. I wish she'd disappear
>>
>>10973908
May I ask why? I just wanna know your pov.
>>
I like the kaigai idol community but just like some people here are saying, there are TONS of larpers. Such as those whom call themselves idols when they just cosplay and dance on stage. I just wish they would use the correct title for themselves like "Cosplay dancer" or something. It's annoying when you go to an idol festival and all you see are cosplayers dancing and sometimes you got people who aren't even trying to dance good or look good. It's horrible. But there are good idols and idol groups here, but in the specific area I am in I see too many larps getting into idol fests. I don't think many kaigai idols realize that being an idol is more than singing and dancing.
>>
>>10974184

East Coast scene at least is too afraid to publicly criticize anyone. They always shit talk in private.

Also just because a state is blue doesn't mean literally every human within it is. Lmao.
>>
>>10974000
i caught otakon idols day 1 yesterday and desu your list is way too generous in calling some of these acts "good," hoping day 2 changes my mind. gonna recap a few since there was so much going on, curious what everyone else thought too.

the morning idolspace block had a bunch of acts with rough vocals. jyuke's dancing is great but her voice is shaky and unstable. barri's been at this for years and still has bad tone and pronunciation, no improvement at all. heidi's solid but teaming up with barri was a mistake on her part. tara and a few others were okay but still need work.

in the now presenting stage, absolute aidol as usual, sounded dull and hard to listen to. revolie needed way better sync and was just shouting most of the time. altarego was fun to watch but the pink member's voice kept cracking, tho theres potential to grow. tan tan was cute. ires was also entertaining. i enjoyed yumeiro picnic the most.

feebeechan and sunnysaurus were good as always, no surprises there.

atleast im glad otakon split up the cosplayers from newbies and the more experienced acts, other cons really need to start doing that too.
>>
>>10974200
She's not a good idol, but she makes this event like shes saving idols in the UK. The event just looks poor.
>>
>>10974306
How so? Saving idols from what... poor planning?
>>
after seeing leo at otakon, i really think they have a lot of potential. strong image, stable singing, high quality costume and good visuals. i don't know why they aren't more popular
>>
A lot of the otakon performances across the board were solid actually imo, pleasantly surprised
>>
I was surprised about Nocturna. I was expecting something mediocre, but they did pretty good. They have great vocals and good sync.

>>
>>10974451
Bayside had some major volume problems. Everything was way too quiet. You could tell it shook up some of the performers.

RosaRoso was incredible, as always. Most singers were solid besides the Bayside mishap.
>>
>>10974451
thought the uma musume group was pretty solid
>>
With all these idol events at Metrocon, Otakon, US Idol Fest, etc. I'm curious about the pros and cons of audio, setup, and scheduling. Which conventions are the best and worst for performing?
>>
hearing that Jenni Bon pissed everyone off this weekend. Why is she still in charge?
>>
>>10974474
US Idol Fest was the worst. Got gaslighted into thinking our music was fine when in reality they didn't play it properly. Had to have our friend run our music another year since there was no staff even there to sound check. It was practically an open karaoke stage. Not to mention, northern lights last year was horrendous ending at practically 3am. The talent they invited from overseas even wrote a sign on their table saying "no merch sales due to inadequate [USIF] staff" since it ended so late. It's gone downhill since coming over to California.

what's the point of trying to be a jpop idol but like filling up your whole timeline with kpop stuff? couldn't find a way to monetize and fund your kpop obsession.
also it makes you come off as a zillennial which is way to old to be unemployed and wearing pig tails.
>>
>>10974482

Hi Jenni. Its not a secret. I know you post here. I’m letting you know people are aware of your behaviors representing Otakon and the idol community.
>>
>>10974476
didn’t NWIF have delays too? not as bad as USIF but still. probably a staff issue more than a location one
>>
>>10974485
This isn’t news. She’s fat, covered in wrinkles, and washed up but still expects people to believe she’s 21. She edits her photos to hide all of this and to fix her ugly stained crooked teeth. No one cares about her and hasn’t in a long time, they just suck her dick once a year because she runs Idolspace and they want to make sure they get in, but year after year she just lets in her own talentless friends and trades favors to other talentless acts running their own shows.
None of this is a secret, and everyone also knows she manipulates men to pay for her to travel around and perform all the time while she sits on her ass and pretends she has a real job, just like she did when she was a cosplayer.
But that’s just like all of the other people that run Otakon, so at least she does represent them well.
>>
>>10974487
she looks fine. when you bring in crap about someone's looks, it just sounds petty and doesn't make me want to take the rest of what you say seriously. if she's no problematic, focus on her actions.
>>
>>10974490
*so problematic
>>
>>10974450
that or their hardcore fans who are basically their friends. the members are painfully insecure.
>>
>>10974438
idk why she wouldn't just talk to the organizers directly rather than openly talk about them like this. Even if they privately ignore her, this isn't gonna help anything. If I was Next Stage, the more I wouldn't want to work with them on anything.
>>
>>10974485
im not jenni and im not defending them either. not everyone has the same access to information or is involved in these circles so either give details about it or dont be vague

and the hi [insert name here] joke has been regurgitated for years now, get new material

>>10974487

>>
>>10974497
the turnout looked mediocre. weren't they giving away free tickets or bogo. east coast isn't that reliable.
should have had vtubers.
also i know he wants to try to force taiwanese kaigai idols but like it doesn't make any sense. why have foreign kaigai idols. even japanese local idols struggle leaving their locality.
>>
>>10974501

I don't need to elaborate. That message wasn't for anyone other than Jenni. She knows she's fucking up. The staff knows she's fucking up.

Hey Jenni. Do better. Stop blaming others for your fuckups.
>>
>>10974524
Yeah she’s fucking up and they can’t do anything to get rid of her.
She was forced to step down from Idol space last year because the staff found out about her cam work, which includes her cosplaying and sexualizing minors.
She keeps saying she got promoted and that’s why she doesn’t work it anymore, but she got kicked out for ruining their image and the con just found another job for her. She’s a huge bully so everyone’s afraid to say anything but everyone in the area knows.
>>
>>10974526
yikes..... thats a hefty claim
is there proof of this? if this iss true, shouldnt sexualizing minors be bad enough to take her down or to not allow her as staff? also if 'everyone' knows then why hasnt anyone spoken up about it?
>>
>>10974526
Omg is there a source for this info? This is wild if true but I've never heard anything like this
>>
>>10974526

>>
>>10974526

>>10974537
If someone has held social influence for years, it's easy to maintain their position and control by spreading rumors. That’s why some people on the East Coast can’t handle criticism, they're too invested in defending Barbie’s Playhouse if they get something out of it. So yes, if people blindly believe Jenni Bon when she talks shit or people talk shit themselves, that’s how harm is done. She hasn't been removed yet because no one deemed it enough of a problem and they enable it. It’s not rocket science.
>>
>>10974542
well, let's get her removed then. now is your chance and this is the platform. lay it all out.

>>10974526
going from idolspace, a department that isn't exactly well respected, to managing live performances in general would probably be defined by most people as a promotion. if they're that mad about people allegedly doing sex work then you might as well nuke the entirety of idolspace programming given how many people we regularly see out there have those kinds of allegations.
>>
>>10974546
Sex work is one thing and is fine if its of age and consensual, but the potential involvement of minors with that along with bullying is definitely not okay and is a whole nother beast.
>>
>>10974539
yes, it is. he paid to fly out at least phoebe and pengy, and probably more, to come to his private birthday party and then went on a twitter rant recently about how much kaigai idols suck and he wants nothing to do with them. They all posted about attending it around March 2025 on their socials despite it being an invite only event.
>>
>>10974556
>how much kaigai idols suck and he wants nothing to do with them

Don't remember him saying he doesn't want anything to do with them, it was just mild valid criticism on quality. The reaction most people had with dogging on him and you misrepresenting what he said is the exact reason why people wouldn't want anything to do with kaigai idols. Y'all suck, he didn't say enough.

Piggybacking off of >>10974474 what was the setup like for Otakon's Idolspace?
>>
>>10974616
i'd say the setup for the dedicated Idolspace room is fairly good if you haven't been to it before. the equipment is fairly standard and the stage has plenty of room for activities and dedicated floor space for wotagei and mix. idolspace staff typically run sound and lighting. showcases get done on the main event stage at the marriott and that has dedicated sound and lighting staff and not ran by idolspace staffers.
>>
>>10974602
I followed the group ever since Otakon. The members were advertising it on their IG stories for a Taiwanese online store. Guess they figured they can make more money from US fans with it
>>
>>10974497
so there was nobody of note?
was the Taiwanese group even good?
>>
When can we talk about the Texas idol community? I never see anyone talk about Texas idols.
>>
>>10974497
my big question about plum valley idol festival vol. 0 is why the hell is it four events with virtually identical line-ups?
>>
>>10974634
I don't trust the organizer. we don't know who he is, he just came over here out of nowhere. I feel like the owner is part of the reason why cherie ife disappeared. she toured taiwan right? why were there no pictures and videos from such an accomplishment? something is fishy.
>>
>>10974635
what even happened to chérie in general??? I feel like we're still waiting for news about what's going on with her.
>>
>>10974638
She's in Japan, as planned but as far as performances, nothing announced or planned and no mention of like what exactly happened. She was already pretty private and vague to begin with when it came to talking about anything personal with her so I doubt we will get an actual explanation any time soon.
>>
>>10974634
it's pretty common for the foreign acts to do multiple events. it's the only way to make it profitable. consider how many chekis a flight from taiwan is. they're not making that back in one day.
>>10974635
someone posted cherie's manager in the last thread. fortune ferret had nothing to do with that. fortune ferret is just a taiwan idol fan. he's doing okay even though his staff is not at all informed.
>>
Why does Final Self do the camp rock dance in their song choreo

Anyone go to kirakira idolfest? Was it any good?

>>10974645
Holy selfpost
>>
>>10974556
what the fuck
>>
>>10974545
We are fairly proud of them aha
>>
Ok so when are we going to talk about Texas idols. Lol. Anyone have any favorites? We all know PAiDA but any others?
>>
>>10974702
what's there to talk about. the only events in texas are crappy cosplay cover stages and everyone in the whole state is obese.
>>
>>10974702
Texas is a shell of its former self. Used to be the hot spot until it ran out the people doing quality control.
>>
>>10974497
Overall, Plum Valley was a great experience. It was a little warm in there but it beats being in the sun. As usual, Moe Age was great along with Strawberry Sunday. THERAREz and JIEMEI were both absolutely amazing and they're all really professional and just amazing all around. I'm glad there were not as many people doing that stupid wotagei shit, it should be banned from these events. Yu&me had some sound issues but I always enjoy their setlists.

Speaking of Yu&me, I think it's pretty laughable that they don't even try to hide the fact that they are dating their so called "staff". Apparently just last week, Nene was spotted at some festival with one of their staff and everyone's always suspected that they were together so this just looks more suspicious. With all the allegations against Nene, I hope he is doing alright.
>>
>>10974753
>don't even try to hide the fact that they are dating their so called "staff"
this is true of all maids.

i noticed that the sunday show was empty compared to the saturday show. it's nonsense to me that people will show up for their favorite kaigai idols but not to a japanese group one man. especially when in every category of talent and beauty they mop the floor with the weeb acts.
>>
Doesn’t mean they won’t cheat on their bfs though, they’re basically already cucks lmao
>>
>>10974755
the kaigai idol community hardly cares about actual japanese idols, music, and talent at this point.
>>
>>10974753
they arent dating staff. staff became staff because they were already dating. 99.9% of the time when an idol has staff or a manager or right hand person, that's their partner. i wish they were just honest.
>>
>>10974761
the california community does care about talent. they will only support the idols that deserve it.
i just think zoomers are too autistic to leave their anime convention safe space where they grew up.
>>
>>10974762
It's modern day and it's the western world. It's really nobodys business but if you're retarded enough to not notice it that's on you lmao
>>
A good portion of "idol fans" are actually just Asayoru Maid cafe fans. They will only go to events that has Moe Age in it. Which i can't really blame because there arent that many good groups and Asayoru is the biggest feeder in SoCal when it comes to idol events.

But because they are the biggest feeder it doesnt mean they are a fan of idols. They are just using idols to grow their brand and image. In reality they dont give a fuck about you.
>>
>>10974774
the asayoru maids are big idol fans. they buy chekis from the groups that fly over and most of them use their maid money to fly to japan for idols. they spent the time to actually learn japanese. so all of them are way above the average kaigai idol fan. all maids wish they could be idols in the first place.

also the moe age fans will go to other us shows. so they're not just asayoru only. they fly across the us for different kaigai events. they just have no interest in japanese groups. it's like people who will only watch dub anime.
>>
>>10974761
>the kaigai idol community hardly cares about actual japanese idols, music, and talent at this point.
i hate how true this is
>>
>>10974761
all they care about is sugarcoating and kissing each other’s mediocre asses
>>
>>10974761
I think that is changing slowly. There have been a few alt-themed idols popping up in the last few years here, and trad groups with more professional looking costumes with covers of songs outside of LL and Vocaloid. I'm looking forward to where the local comm goes.
>>
>>10974832
There's potential, but in order for them to actually be good, they need to focus on craft more than anything. Many kaogai idols care more about if so and so gives them attention on social media in hopes it'll get them a live gig rather than if their actual idol work (music, performances, photoshoots) can stand on its own.
>>
>>10974789
bingo. the dub anime comparison is hilariously accurate!
>>
>>10974832
Name, names or it’s just another group you’re talking about everyone says all the time. To “watch”
>>
The Florida idol comm looks like its going to dig itself into a grave before it can even go anywhere. It is unbeleveable to sit and watch cosplayers egg on a Kaigai focused events like they think they deserve a place in every evnet. Its sad to see how Mikan LIve Productions is handling the situations but even more disapointing that it looks like its all coming from Nexts Stage and there staff. There is no hope for the Kaigai scece let alone the cosplay scene. Florida should let itself fizzle out and die pff
>>
>>10974859
mikanlivepro was so embarrassing here. what do you mean youre calling someone an asshat for posting something vaguely petty? theyre super unprofessional. its easy to see why theyre hiding whos running it for now.

kaigai idols do deserve their own dedicated space in florida. theres enough idols and fans to create a proper demand for it. but it shouldnt be run by people who are so sensitive and cant even politely go "this page is to uplift kaigais!" when asked about excluding cosidols.
>>
standing in the front row and wearing a huge ass furry head to block the view of everyone behind you is totally socially unaware behavior.
>>10974859
comm is short for communications.
but ya florida and pretty much the entire south has an attitude that is not conducive to idols. i feel sorry for the couple idols that put an effort in but were dragged down by the crabs in a bucket.
>>
>>10974862

they don't even need to explain themselves. they could just make their events with whoever they want on the show and that alone would make it obvious it's a kaigai idol event with live singing. no drama needed.

I don't care for idol cosplayers but when people say kaigai idols need more priority at cons like it's a noble political cause, I have to laugh. Next Stage only is in charge of idol stuff at metrocon, swampcon, and freecon? Where else? Other than that, it's not like they're some grand overlord entity ruling the entire future of kaigai idols. If you don't get into a Next Stage event, try elsewhere. Cons are about fandom community so it makes sense why idol cosplayers are focused on, whether we like it or not, that's the general purpose of cons: to gather fans of anime. Isn't that why we all started to attend them to begin with?
>>
Cosidols are always so entitled. They all expect to get into every event, and when they don't, they cry and whine and shout exclusion. It's embarrassing. Convention idol events have turned into cosplay meetups instead of actual shows, the point being to have as many participants as possible so nobody's feelings are hurt, instead of putting on a good show.
>>
>>10974865
this was brought up months ago in the northeast comm. most of their convention events are cosplay heavy and have these stupid rules. you get more performance time the more people you have in a group because they think it's more entertaining to watch more people on stage. id rather watch an experienced duo over 9 obese college kids in amazon wigs.
>>
>>10974864
next stage recently took over miraicon from pengy and orly who did it last year and allegedly are taking holmat this year as well. they are creating a monopoly in florida whether people want to admit it or not. though with the way mikanlive is running their socials and getting in fights with idols instead of promoting their shows i think original idols are cooked in this state
>>
If an idol wants to perform at a convention, they should be working on their portfolio and image so they're seen as professional enough to be brought on as a performance guest. Kaigais can perform anywhere they want to if they put in the effort. Cosplay idols are restricted to only conventions.
>>
>>10974865
You're right, but the thing you need to realize is that cons have never been about quality control or putting on a good show unless there is an actual contest involved where the people performing ar finalists.

The way con idol fests like Next Stage operate is that they're a community stage for showcasing the community. Therefore, they don't believe in having quality control because their purpose is to give people a chance to perform, that's it. Not people who are necessarily good or bad.

While yes this is annoying as a viewer to watch, they still have ample amount of people show up and get excited for their events. I'm not really trying to defend them, but I also don't really see the point in getting worked up about them unless people have a personal issue with organizers or something behind the scenes that people don't want the public to know about.
>>
>>10974868
Kaigai idols need to figure out what their goal is. Yes, you can perform for fun and be at the whims of whichever con idol fest accepts you or not. Or, if you really care about live performance regularly, want to keep making original music, and want to build a fanbase of people actually showing up for YOU not just because they're at a con and you're at a con and they have nothing else better to do, then use cons as a launchpad and marketing environment and try to get involved in a local live performance and music community that will give you more gigs. You'll be around people who actually care more about quality control.
>>
>>10974864
As if idol cosplayers even participate in the fandom they cosplay lmao. They just cosplay whatever big next stage daddy likes or thinks will attract a crowd. The performers are so soulless
>>
>>10974862# To play devils advocate, if you take 5 minutes and look into each account it’s clear that the misgendering mistake was completely avoidable. The Cosplayers were being petty and spiteful to Mikan Live since Mikan chose to air out the aggressive dm from them. Not that it was in good taste to call them asshats it also was super ignorant on the cosplayers. Going even further into the account Mikan has stated many times that they are for just kaigai idols and even went as far as to ask people to stop being rude on the strawpage, critical thinking here leads one to connect that it was probably the same cosplayers who dmed that page who were in the dms. To agree with op, it’s an insanely hard watch to see Mikan chose to react that way. Im going to speculate here for a moment, the team or individual behind the page had most likely been dealing with the same entitled cosplayers this entire time and showed a moment of weakness. Furthering OP it genuinely is shocking as a Florida idol to see just how involved and deeply tied those cosplayers are to Next Stage for the Next Stage team to just let that happen. It’s already a very prominent rumor in the state that they don’t like original music and the dumpster fire that was metrorock really solidified that.

I guess TLDR this shit is cooked hotter than the heat advisory.
>>
>>10974884
the people they were beefing with here were kaigai idols. the misgendering was unavoidable but the correction was done very aggressively and was clearly just to bite back at them lol. but it was a kaigai idol account, not just random cosplayers. mikan just needs to get their shit together and stop beefing with julies brother of all people
>>
>>10974884
why are they even replying to rude strawpage asks kek just ignore them
>>
>>10974885 Forgive me for not seeing Guilty Pulse dressed up in shitty millennial trash panda humor with party city wigs as a a Kaigai act just so they can be featured in yet another Big Daddy Next Stage performance.
>>
>>10974885
we got a name! Julie's (Jubesy's) brother it seems. Any more deets?
>>
>>10974888
i don't think anyone actually wants to see guilty pulse anyway its just their obese friends thinking they're talented and good enough to guest at events when no one actually cares
>>
>>10974892
"Got a name?" There's only two of them and they're tagged in their posts. There's no mystery here. I'm more curious about who the angry idols behind Mikan are, aren't you?
>>
>>10974896
My guess is Nocturna is involved since they seem to be so open about having problems with Next Stage.
>>
>>10974898
i know a lot of idols that have beef and issues with next stage but just won't speak up. there's a chance its nocturna but it could be anyone else as well x
>>
>>10974896
pretty sus they don't make the identity of who runs it known. usually running events gives you extra kaigai idol community clout points. who doesn't want that kek
>>
>>10974899
high chance it's just rin rin actually
>>
>>10974898
I heavily suspect Nocturna. Or at least Suki. They're catty enough to react like that, anyway. They're also on here all the time kek
>>
>> 10974902 any proof to back up this claim, I’d love to join on this but rather jt not be baseless you have to to back it up take a sec and check both stories. Roadkill is obviously reading these boards and the obese Nocturna cow posted from the hospital lmfao
>>
File: HPy0tlJW4AEOWbk.jpg (248 KB, 1080x1350)
248 KB JPG
anyways did you guys see chiri girls are performing in atlanta?
>>
Roadkill is in their 30s and should know better than to embarrass themselves by revealing that they read the board. Mikan is acting pretty badly, but Nocturna is girls in their early 20s. I thought Guilty Pulse was mature, but they're spending their Saturdays lurking the board. Pretty sure they were the ones in the QnA saying Mikan's apps was similar to Next Stage.
Mikan needs to get a new social medias girl. How can they be expected to run an event when they can't even ignore anon hate. All of this is so messy and bitchy.
>>
>>10974903
these bitches are so overdramatic. all of them.
>>
>>10974902
Has anyone else noticed how she's rude to her other members? She always says she loves them but during lives like at the venus graduation live, she was constantly saying rude passive aggressive comments about everyone as a way of joking. Even online they have this playful rudeness thing going on that just turns me off. Call me old school, but if youre gonna be an idol, alt or orthodox, you should be uplifting to others and be more gracious. The other members look like pushovers so I can't imagine them standing up against the group leader.
>>
>>10974884
>if you take 5 minutes and look into each account it’s clear that the misgendering mistake was completely avoidable.
Idols is not an inclusive safe space and it's tiresome to see these hordes of societal rejects attempting exert ownership and force other people to participate in their stim rituals.
If someone has to do a web search for what gender you are then it is obviously your own problem, not theirs.

The sheer amount of people trying to make jpop idols into some sort of non binary stronghold is inane and socially disruptive.
>>
>>10974931
>The sheer amount of people trying to make jpop idols into some sort of non binary stronghold is inane and socially disruptive.
This is how they operate. They're incapable of creating their own thing, so instead they coopt something else that already exists and manipulate the people already into the thing into turning the thing into something else that only superficially represents the original thing. Except now they're in charge and will remove you, even if you were originally there in the first place.
>>
>>10974930
have you ever had friends before genuine question
>>
absolute aitard threatens to expand her botched ass portfolio
>>
>>10974942
She didn't sound bad and put on a decent show at Otakon when I saw her. She's gotten a little better if at all, and it's obvious she gets shows. Sucks that the only black idols that get notoriety are the ones always crying about their blackness though.
>>
>>10974942
She’s been emailing a lot of idol event organizer using the lack of black idols in the lineup argument to pitch herself.
>>
>>10974941
>genuinely

friends who respect me, yes.

we all know the playful meaness is because a person is masking their insecurities. given her appearance and very obviously weak mental constitution, it's pretty obvious.
>>
>>10974943
the first thing we see is that she's black. mentioning it is like when fat idols mention they're fat lol
>>
>>10974949
Nayrt. You sound like your friends secretly hate you. It's pretty obvious.
>>
>>10974951
Nayrt anyone with enough awareness or experience can be able to spot a fake friend from a true one. And all because they can spot them doesnt mean that they have those kinds of friends themselves. Dishing backhanded comments and exuding passive aggression towards your group mates, or even your own so called friends is hella toxic.
>>
>>10974943
im not sure what you would defne as 'decent' but absolute aidol singing was emotionless. maybe the only improvement is her outreach but skill wise, she has a lot to work on. there are other bipoc kaigai idols out there with better vocals and dancing who deserve more representation
>>
>>10974947
source? not surprising though if it’s true.
>>
>>10974951
nah. I just don't like the idea of potentially hurting someone's feelings, so I don't play with my friends like that and they don't do that back to me.
>>
>>10974924
absolute idol retweeted this event complaining about the graffiti theming and hoping there would be black idols

Does anyone have thoughts
>>
>>10974962
Does she get mad at every song that has rap in it if it's not performed by a black person as well?
>>
>>10974962
i support it. there should be proper representation. which conversely means there shouldn't be any events overcrowded with morbidly obese gender non conformist cosplayers wheezing on stage.
>>
>>10974962
the logo is ugly and I couldn't understand the event name until I saw it written in regular font

>>10974962

Same type of bitches that got the Gachiakuta artist to take his name off the series lmfao
>>
>>10975005
If we're gonna talk diversity, at least every idol fest should have someone Asian since afterall, this is all borrowed entertainment culture from Asia lol.
>>
How are we feeling about all the upcoming shows? Are you going to any?
I'll be at AnimeNYC and the city idol live on Sunday. Is Idol Village usually good?
>>
>>10975069
i know that a lot of people are going to anyc, and i think they expected something more like idol summer escape. don't think they'll be that hyped for a regular cosplayer event.
>>
east coast thinks their idol community is developed but you don't have two different competing idol events being held in the same venue. at the same time. like how california does.
>>
>>10975138
There was surprisingly an unofficial idolfest outside the con for ANYC. Not official idol event from the con, but it was there.
>>
A lot of wotas, staff, and idols are so full of themselves it funny
>Selling acrylic stands of themselves
> WSF Staff putting themselves in the center on Twitter
>Idol: "battered and bruised from the OffkaixOtakonxANYC"
Girl, you were in a wheelchair during Otakon. You didn't even push yourself and had someone wheel you around
>>
>>10975168
a few show rejects forcing a street show with more performers than bystanders is not an idol fest. it was tried at ax too.
>>10975178
it's actually cringe seeing "that" vtuber trying to compare a cosplay dancer show at anyc to japan, purely off the vibes of yumerio picnic's set.. and that vibe is honestly like 99% just chichi being locked in. with a little side contribution from professional los angeles maids and their fans.
it's such a painfully long way before we get real event planners.
>>
>>10975186
How the fuck was BAIF a cosplay dancer show? There were only two cosplay groups and they were borderline professional. You people can't ever be happy, always delusional.
>>
>>10975188
ashes, please stop putting your friends/the same 3 people in your "shows". it is painfully obvious and extremely boring.
>>
>>10975188
anything more than 0 is a cosplay masquerade. i know this because japan invented japanese idols and they have 0
>>
>>10975138
That's because everyone here is feuding with each other. Event organizers and maid cafes. They would rather have you work for them instead of working with them, they all have an ego. Easier to pretend humble when you have a maid dress on
>>
>>10975193
that's just capitalism.
>>
Did anyone go to Hop Step Rin Rin? How was it?
>>
>>10975201
It was great. Everyone was their usual level of quality, Rin Rin's new outfit was cute. Leo's vocals were good. Venue was a little tacky, but it was a first-time event. I'm used to lives being in darker rooms.
>>
>it was another weekend of the majority of kaigai fans don't show up to real japanese idol events even when they're free.
US is such an embarrassment at everything these days.
>>
>>10975224
A lot of people don't care or have heard about most of those idols. Bring back jiemei and you will have a bigger show
>>
>>10975239
no one knows jiemei and even less people showed up to their show. it's not about notoriety.
>>
>>10975240
Wait wtf?
You're telling me more people showed up to a free event inside an anime convention than a paid event that's not inside an anime convention?
How is that even possible?
>>
>>10975261
more people showed up to endless summer than the rarez and jiemei one man. the point of the conversation was that kaigai fans don't show up.
>>
ROFL
>>
>>10975338
awa is cringe af anyway. it's all cosplayers.
and atlanta won't even show up for crystal kay or flow, so an idol show is way over their heads.
>>
>>10975338
oh kaigai idol community, please don't ever change. fat idols who yell about fat phobia yet get illustrations/vtuber models of themselves in a skinny perfrct body. the lack of self awareness is a key marker of the kaigai idol community. it's actually so sad. ashes is huge and it would be really hard for them to ever look like this unless they do a major overhaul with their habits and mindset.
>>
>>10975341
everyone wants to pretend to be body positive but when it comes to actually liking big idols it's only men that show up.
there's not a single fat male idol.
