DragonCon 202640th AnniversaryAtlanta, GA USA4 Weeks to go. Let’s see those cosplays.
>>10974172Gotta buy a anime hair wig, & gloves, to upgrade my cosplay this year.
I couldn't make any miracles happen this year my job. So I'm going to have to sit this one out. I expect you all to awesome time for me.
>>10974196*with my job
>>10974196Saw you last year. Fantastic shit. It'll be a lesser con without you.
This'll be my first year staying at the Westin, which I'm a little bittersweet about. Yeah it's a host Hotel, but it's not really in the heart of the action like the Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt. Guess I'll learn if I enjoy a quieter hotel experience vs the feeling of being instantly in the dead center of the con as soon as I step out of the hotel room door.
>>10974270Stayed there myself. I was on the inverse at one point because I was afraid of how bad it would be to be in the heart of things. Westin isn't a bad spot but it's not connected to the other host hotels so it can feel a little weird. Just don't forget that the action happens there too as there are parties and panels there. This will be my second year at the Marriott however, and for being so close to the ground floor I was really surprised about how unbothered I was about potential noise below.
Westin is still cool though. Whole hotel has a chiller vibe while still being about it. Some good panels there and dance parties. The goth party there last year was line out the door for over an hour and def worth the wait. And it’s only a block away.Marriott is cool but goddamn is it a headache getting elevator up to your room. Trick there is to get on on the top level of atrium and ride it down just to go back up.I’m always curious to know what the big costume of the con will be. Last year obviously K Pop Demon Hunters.
>>10974269You honor me, I'll for sure be back in 2030. But during the interim years I'll do my best to return. No other con experience compares.>>10974270Last year there were quite a mixers that went on at the Westin due to the more laid back atmosphere. My buddy who is into writing got do some elbow rubbing with the big name authors.
Cannot believe it's only a month away. I'm sure the next 4 weeks will feel like 4 months though. As per tradition, none of my cosplays are near ready. Will also be staying at the Westin, breaking from Staybridge tradition. My group will be hosting karaoke around the Marriott fountain one night and we'll be handing out ribbons for those participating. I'll keep ya posted.
Couldn't make it last year, absolutely returning this time. Feelin godlike, one of my cosus may or not have to do with pic related...>>10974441>hosting karaoke around the Marriott fountain one night and Allah willing it'll be when this goes down. been told I'm "pretty good"
>>10974172As with every DragonCon, I'll try to do a last minute cosplay build. This time it'll be a Boba Fett ROTJ build. I started on it yesterday lol. I have all the soft parts ordered (dince I can't sew to save my life), now I just need to 3d print the armor. I most likely won't be able to finish the jetpack so I'll do that last as a stretch goal.
My improved classic Punisher.
>>10974724Since we are seeing more and more cosplay from The Mummy, decided to wear Izzy from the second movie.
>>10974362Honestly same. Really thought it was going to be Sinners last year and then demon hunters dropped. I've heard people talking about the different variations of Skeletor from the new movie however and since you really only need a mask for his different appearances it will probably be a low pressure cosplay to pull off. I'm not quite sure what else has been super popular this year to follow.
