Didn't see a thread for CCE yet, so I'm biting the bullet. Who're you cosplaying? What're you most excited for? How much alcohol are you going to consume cuz we all know what we're here for?

I've been going for a few years but never hit the waterpark (usually too busy partying elsewhere), looking to rectify that this time. Also need to see Kazha again, they're great every year.

I will be swimming here. I also need to be more social and meet east coast colossal goers so I can stop struggling to get roomies for this!

Drinking, water slides, and more drinking

My room is usually accounted for by the time I book it but I'm always down for new con friends. You cosplaying, Anon?
>>
Only went once till now, mainly cuz it's a logistical nightmare. But I'm ready to give it another chance. Remember it being about as open as Ohio, with a much smaller attendee cap. Have to wonder how that plays out this year, since Prime was noticeably sparse too

I think there miiiiight be a dip starting this year thanks to CCV's inaugural con in May? Might be more noticeable next year but I imagine it'll siphon a good chunk of southeast/lower mid-atlantic traffic away from East. Can't complain when I'm close enough to both and they're spread far enough apart date-wise I can attend both pretty easily, plus dividing the traffic means less stressful F5ing for room block drops (I hope, though I did nab a CCV room like 30 minutes after they shadowdropped them so signs might be promising).

Also re:Prime, I've heard rumblings for a while of people being sick of the overcrowding and bailing on it which ironically solves the issue.

A bit of CC Virginia, a bit of recession. I put it more on the latter, either way the smoking gun that it was below capacity: the first time seeing families since 21. I'm interested enough to see how it goes, if ambivalent too.

t. went to CC Texas year 1 and it was a borderline ghost town

Older /a/non here. I am considering going to this con. I would like to do the whole party at night with the indoor waterpark. I've never had the chance to experience that. I'd be by myself with no hotel if I went. I could attempt to sleep in my car but sadly for me I have sleep apnea and need to be hooked up to a C-pap machine with power just to sleep, so that will be difficult.

In a perfect world i'd like to hang out with people at night, drink a bit, then take a 2.5 hour drive home, however i'm not chancing drinking and driving. I'm currently going over my options to see if it will be possible to overcome my logistical problems, show up to the con and have fun.

Never been, some friends convinced me to go, what can I expect? I imagine I want to be light/casual on cosplans

The party con of party cons. What specifically do you want to know, Anon?
>I imagine I want to be light/casual on cosplans
You can go that route, but there's still a ton of people who go all-out.

Here again

So its more likely I'll be going to this con, I took off from work. My main goal is to experience the after hours waterpark. I am looking through the website for details, but is there anything else I need to know from people that have had experience with it?

Can you pay for storage lockers? Is there a changing room / shower? Other small details, I saw there is some bar in there. How can we pay for drinks if we're in bathing suits? do people bring their wallets and mobile phones into the water park?

I'm guessin what kinda vibe to expect, but from what I've been hearing, it's katsu vibes

Nobody wants to talk to you at Katsu for anything, everybody wants to talk to you at CC for everything

East has so far been the most social and most welcoming con I've ever been to as well as being an amazing party con. I'm a forever alone male for reference, and never before did I have so many people coming up to me to chat. For example at the night swim in the hot tub, a guy casually asking how my con is going and we stay there for 30 mins. In the lobby party, someone else doing the same thing but offering me drinks as well as we chat. I don't get it but I've always had a great time and felt so included every time.
(Personal experiences may vary)

Make sure to take some time Saturday night to go up and down the room hallways to look at all the custom made door signs everyone makes. No other con does this kind of thing like colossals do

Pretty much what >>10975293 said. I can't speak heavily to Katsu since I only went once (this year), but while the similarities are there (massive party con, pretty much self-contained unless you want to leave the facility for something, praying to God during the room block drop), CCE does feel a lot more freespirited with hella chill vibes. It probably helps that while you still have the heavy photographer presence for stuff like waterpark shoots, CCE is nowhere near the influencer-saturated level of Katsu. Plus you really don't need to know a guy who knows a guy to get into room parties, just walk long enough and someone will invite you into one.

OP here, didn't realize how many gulls were going. We wanna do a meetup? I'm bad at organizing shit but it doesnt take much to do that at CCE. I'll have booze ofc.

Hey Unc
So yeah the water park has various storage lockers you gotta pay for. I think there is a changing room?
Bro you must have an imagination. You can drink in a bathing suit. They have a literal partially underwater swim-up jacuzzi bar you can order drinks from in a Jacuzzi style warm water area. A lot of people congregate there to talk and drink. Shit is expensive though.
Yes of course people bring their wallets and phones. You can put em in your locker or bring a waterproof lanyard or fanny pack for your valuables.
>>
>>10975351

Thanks for the info. I'm trying to make this con. Its a bit 50/50 now. I'll look into waterproof items for this. I don't mind spending a bit of money to have some fun at the waterpark.
>>
>>10975352
The lockers were a bit pricey and the drinks too. If you order a large drink in the indoor water park you can get a cheaper refill on it but thats up to how much liquor you handle and if you wanna spend the price of a meal on it.
>>
me leaving my phone back in the hotel room so I can enjoy the water park without a worry
>>
im bringing several bottles of shit from my europe trip, what's everyone bringing
>>
>>10975361
Going on my booze run today. Definitely Jager and rum, gonna see if I can find Rumple Minze too though that shit's elusive around here. Plus a case each of Natty Daddy and Yuengling.
