Wholesome thread. At first recollection I can really only think of the snide comments because they were uniquely rude, pretty sure all of them came from boomers. But on the whole I've had way more people just generally excited and giving the usual "omg you look beautiful" comment - in recent memory I went to a weekend local market with a friend dressed in a lilac country sweet coord and a woman in her mid 20's went out of her way to express how much she enjoyed my outfit and was visibly joyful <3 it's interesting to see how strangers react because you may be the one wearing the atypical outfit but they're the ones wearing their values and manners on their sleeve.
they loved my funny halloween costume but the biggest compliment they gave me was when i took off my mask. she looked like she melted when she saw my actual face. i'm a bit insane about my looks so i've been floating on that for a while.
