ITT we discuss favorite brands and flavors of Top Ramen, as well as our favorite ways to "doctor" it into something better. I think just about everyone has done this at some point or another- adding ingredients to their ramen to make it taste better or cooking it in a different way.Personally what I do is boil the noodles until tender and then I drain the water until it only just barely covers half the noodles. I then add 3/4 of the bouillon packet (usually 1/2 makes it less salty but I like it on the saltier side) and stir fry the noodles in the water with soy sauce (optional other sauces like teriyaki). While the noodles are in their initial boiling stage I'll fry some onions and mushrooms. While the noodles are in their initial boiling stage also add 2 stalks of celery and 1 sprig of green onion. 1/2 a carrot is also optional. Optionally one may have a full dose of water and noodle but will have to overcook the noodles until they're almost just sticky mush. I like it this way but most people say they don't.I call it Ghetto Chow Mein, and it goes really well with a fried egg on top over medium or over easy. If you time everything just right the over medium or easy egg will dribble and cook right onto the noodle, making a gunky, tasty umami ridden mess in the mouth with fresh flavors from added veggies.

If it’s not Korean shit I don’t fuck with it
Top ramen? I don't do much to it, microwave it with 2 cups of water then add seasoning plus some cayenne pepper. Then usually some thin sliced green onions, and if I'm feeling fruity an egg or some chicken, depending on the flavor
>>22038090>topit's pronounced "maruchan".
>>22038090>I think just about everyone has done this at some point or anotherI never haveIf I'm making top ramen I just want the ramen quick and easythis is like "spicing up" a Pop Tart
>>22038090I add a little more msg to me because it's so much more ass than maurchan
>>22038090I add an egg pretty much every time now. I’d have to be deathly ill to not put in that effort. Otherwise:> frozen peas/carrots/corn> leftover teriyaki beef/chicken/shrimp> dehydrated mushrooms > green onion> cilantro> ponzu> cheese> mayo> sautéed garlic and ginger> pickled radish> soft boiled egg> SOY MARINATED soft boiled egg^ Thats the best one
Top ramen is shit, buy sapporo ichiban. Drain half the water out, add a splash of shoyu and mirin, top with negi and roasted sesame seeds. If you want to add protein, buy frozen or refridgerated noodles from your local Japanese market and make good ramen instead. The market sells chasu slices.Source: hapa

>>22038090I like to add a beaten egg and grated cheese at the end, if done right they meld together into a smooth proteinaceous soup that's neither egg nor cheese.
