Is expensive butter worth it?
>>
>>22040364
HEB Organics butter is $5.98 right now
>>
>>22040364
no, as long as you get actual butter and not something cut with oil/margarine
>>
>>22040364
>one on the right is just 2 sticks
Grim.
>>
nyo
>>
Yes. It tastes better
>>
>>22040364
No. Butter must not overpower the taste of the bread.
>>
Sometimes
Some brands are expensive for no reason, so no to them.
Some uses make the butter taste not as relevant, so no again.
I have cheaper butter for basic cakes and muffins, making pancakes, scrambled eggs, stuff where butter flavor isn't important to me.
I use nice butter for eating with bread, frosting, certain baked goods like croissants or cookies, mashed potatoes, etc
>>
>>22040368
What absolute shit hole do you live in that's allowed to do that. I'm guessing Italy.
>>
If the butter flavor is important to the dish, yes.
>>
>>22040364
I feel like you could put "Irish" on a bucket of birdshit and Americans would eat it up.
>>
>>22040364
I grew up on great value butter, first time I tried Kerrygold I noticed a difference. It's better but not really worth it because I can get Challenge which is half the price of kerrygold and 75% as good. I don't need that extra 25%.
>>
>>22040421
You should assume America
>>
>>22040364
This faggot has an extremely punchable face.
>>
Tillamook butter is the best.
>>
>>22040364
that's not expensive butter
>>
>>22040367
>HEB Organics butter is $5.98 right now
That's cheap and "organic" means nothing yet retards like you keep falling for the meme

>>
>>22040483
what are you talking about, idiot? i just said it was $5.98 because the image erroneously states it's $1. i dont buy that butter and have fallen for no meme.
>>
>>22040364
Kerrygold definetly tastes better than store brand American butter, or things like Dairygold or whatever. That being said I only use it when it's going to be a primary flavor and not just for a cooking oil to cook other things. If the taste of the butter is going to get lost behind the other things you're cooking it's not worth using.
>>
>>22040483
you talk and think like a female
>>
>>22040457
That's not legal in America.
>>
>>22040364
Kerrygold is, $20 French bullshit isn't.
>>
Yes but not kerrygold that shit sucks.
>>
>>22040452
Kerrygold is for dishes where you need the butterfat because that dollar store butter is going to burn and leave your turkey dry and upsetting.

Was that thumbnail made in like 2014 or something?
>>
>>22040649
Is the difference between 80% and 82% butterfat really noticeable in that regard?
Genuinely curious.
>>
>>22040656
Obviously not. Only clarified butter isn't burning.
>>
>>22040687
So why is Kerrygold relevant here?
>>
>>22040690
Because that guy forgot to take his haldol.
>>
>>22040427
kerrygold is like C tier butter in the uk
>>
1lb cheap non-brand butter is $6.
>>
>>22040364
No one gonna say it? The gay faces he makes for his thumbnails(or just face I guess) is a huge cringe factor and keeps me from watching his videos. Friends have said the same.
Anyway, butter is butter. 15 dollar butter won't do you any better than a regular 3 dollar butter.
>>
>>22040364
I started making my own butter because it's piss easy and cheaper
>>
>>22040368
I get my butter mixed with olive oil sometimes. It spreads better from the fridge. And who doesn't like butter and olive oil together?
>>
>>22040364
Don't you have tastebuds?
>>
>>22040651
>26$/kg
Jesus, I think I can get duck fat for half that price
>>
>>22040364
Butter all comes from the same place, retards. Theres no difference.
>>
>>22042913
Some buttermakers culture their butter which 100% makes it taste different. Grass fed cows milk also tastes different which will result in different tasting butter. Please learn to dairy, butterlet.
>>
>>22040364
Butter is butter. Just compare the ingredients, its the exact same thing. There's a market for 600% markups because a sucker is born every minute.
>>
>>22042919
Get back on your meds, bro.

kerrygold has a richer flavor which allows you to use less... but what if I don't want to use less?
>>
>>22040364
Trader Joes selling the creamiest butter for 2.99 and it's better than Tilamook and slightly below Kerigold

For comparison Tilamook is usually 4.50 - 5.00 A POUND and Kerigold is around 4.00 for half a pound.
>>
>>22040364
That's a fucking 50 minute long video isnt it
>>
>>22042925
>>22042913
He's right, cultured butter tastes entirely different. If you've ever tasted heavy cream and creme fraiche and noted the difference in texture and taste, that's the difference between non-cultured and cultured butter. One is made from heavy cream and the other is made from creme fraiche.
Not that you should pay a premium for it when you can make a year's supply to portion out and freeze in one afternoon if you have a stand mixer.
>t. makes his own for a fraction of the price and better flavor than the shit you're eating
>>
>>22042738
Exactly.
>>22043317
Yeah. Don't watch his trash.
>>

the good thing about chlebowski is that he made a separate channel just for recipes, then his main channel where he does the gay videos like this.
>>
>>22040364
>8oz
>>
>>22040364
no, in general expensive dairy products are a meme
you can buy a specific kind of cheese and it'll taste different from the other stinky cheeses but any kind of organic, premium butter or milk just tastes the same as the cheapest alternative.
>>
>>22040364
1$? Here it's 2 with discount.
>>
Kerrygold specifically is very good. It tastes better and has more vitamins and other nutrients than other butter.
>>
>kerrygold

Is the whole golden packaging foil issue already forgotten and forgiven?
>>
>>22040364
>he's not making his own butter
>>
>>22043740

>>
>>22040364
Fucking Kerrygold just went up by like 50 cents or something retarded like that. Just so when it goes back down to it's normal price it seems like a deal.

If you see 2 sticks of kerrygold for anything under 5 bucks now it's a good deal. I tend to bake often, and I notice the difference. Especially since the unsalted is fermented, and you have a higher fat content.

Is this the white dude who ate so much mcds his deez nutz stopped working and he couldn’t sexually pleasure his hippy wife?
>>
