I figure good whole wheat bread isn't too hard to find

Just shovel down psyllium.

Just add a handful of green leaves to a normal dish each day. Perfect shits achieved.

Fiber is bad.

Metamucil is king
chia seeds and flax meal, I just put it in my overnight oats, but you can just put both in yogurt or oatmeal
Beans
whole wheat bread
fruit and veg
>>
>>22041788
metamucil is literally just psyllium and if your buying the pills your getting ripped the fuck off compared to just buying a big bag of psyllium husk powder. but like others have said that shit is contaminated and big surprise its primarily cultivated in India.

I would also suggest trying different sources of fiber to see if one is more effective for you. I can eat beans and brown rice and still have a fairly soft poo that requires multiple wipes but if I eat some quinoa instead I get a single foot long firm piece that doesnt even need a single wipe. For soluble fiber it might have to do with your particular gut microbiome so not all fiber sources are treated equally between people.
>>
Every single day I eat:
- 1/4 cup steel cut oats
- 1/4 cup oat bran
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
- 2 tsp benefiber
- 1 pack of natto

Comes out to 28g fiber.

you can mix like 50g of psyllium into 600g of cold water
then its convenient to scoop out a bit for milkshakes or something and eaten daily it helps your overall health

I know about something delicious with a surprising high amount of fibre. Cocoa, it’s 30% to 37% fibre.

>Cocoa powder is very high in dietary fiber, containing approximately 30 to 37 grams of fiber per 100 grams, making it a great source for digestive health.
>>
>>22042949
Cocoa is great, but you need to be careful of a few things:
>Added sugar
>Heavy metal content (basically a gamble, fancier brands aren't better)
>Polyphenol count

If you can, it's best to find cocoa powder that hasn't been "dutched" (treated with an alkalizing agent), because it drastically reduces the polyphenol count. Something that has only been very lightly roasted will also increase its polyphenol count, usually marketed as "cacao powder".
My whole family has 1tbsp of cacao powder each day in our breakfast, which is more than you might think.

Anyway the trick with fiber is to get lots of different kinds. And by that I mean fiber that feeds bacteria in different parts of your gut. I usually target about 45g per day, but you shouldn't try to get all of that in a single meal. For most people, just remind yourself that good food doesn't "have" ingredients, it "is" ingredients. Once you have the big parts under control, you can start thinking about the small details.
>>
I have the same problem. I'm aiming for 30-35g/day (not just for poops also genetic cholesterol) but it's already a challenge staying over 25.

I focus on whole wheat grains (bread, pasta, rice) but the downside (especially rice) is that they can contain arsenic so I always soak them a day beforehand.Force some psyllium down my throat occasionally as well.

For fruits/veggies; I especially love green peas, green beans, apple sauce, broccoli, kale, brussel sprouts, belgian endive, ... .
I avoid beans mostly, they have good fiber but I cant handle them well.

The biggest issue is that we cultivated our food to be easier to chew and be more sweet so we ended up with sacks of sugar with low fibre content.
A grape used to be skin and seeds with a little bit of moist, now its just sugar water with a little bit of skin and seed.
I grow some berry bushes in my yard that aren't "economically interesting" resulting in them still being more related to prehistoric fruits than our common fruits.
They're bitter, sour, chewy... just like they should be. But you just have to shove it down.
Post-ww2 humanity is the only time in history that we eat to enjoy instead of to survive, it's a disastrous mindset for our health

>if you eat greens you can only eat greens
Never said that. But it's true the amount of fiber you get from eating the amount of greens a normal person eats in a day is probably very small.
>>22042806
The kale in my refrigerator says you'd have to eat two entire pounds of it to get 100% of your daily fiber. That's an enormous amount. Each bag is the size of a couch pillow, and that's only one pound.

Three tablespoons of chia seeds in a small mason jar overnight with a milk of your choosing. Easy daily fiber intake.
>>
>>22043177
does this work with yaeiourt instead of milk?
>>
>>22043196
No of course not nothing works with yaeiourt
>>
>>22043102
Are you keeping up your liquid intake amigo? That's the kicker with a high fiber intake is you need a bunch more water to help move it through your colon. Due to the way it behaves, it sucks up all the moisture in there, particularly stuff like Psyllium and if you don't have extra liquid running through you, it'll stick in there for a while and slow down digestion. It will make you feel more full at least, but yeah, without extra water, its' not going to speed up your poops.

>>22040908
OP if you're having trouble getting enough fiber and Psyllium isn't working for you, try checking corn husk fiber supplements like the one from Just Better.

It's a super fine powder that's 5grams of fiber per tablespoon and you can easily add it to your coffee or smoothies for extra fiber in your system.
>>
>>22043293
>fiber up/slim down
dishonest marketing.
>>
>>22042833
It does. When you heat something up, it reduces the volume, concentrating the macronutrients. When you cook chicken breast, the protein concentration increases because the water evaporates.
>>
>>22042865
You're right. Diet Coke and Coke are exactly the same thing, And when somebody orders "Coke" at a restaurant, they should expect and be satisfied when they receive Diet Coke.

Kale

You implied that.
>But it's true the amount of fiber you get from eating the amount of greens a normal person eats in a day is probably very small.
Nobody is talking about the amount of greens a normal person eats. The discussion is about the objective macronutrient proportion in foods.
>The kale in my refrigerator says
The advertisement for pop tarts to say that they're part of a balanced breakfast. I don't really care what your bag says, And nobody mentioned getting 100% of your daily fiber from greens, much less a single green. That's again a straw man that you tried to use before and then defended in the previous post. At least give it a rest before you try and use the same exact fallacious argument again because you have literally no point.
