I have been issued 2 (two) cans of Cream of Mushroom soup, and have been instructed to "cook something with them". In return for my cooperation, I have been told I will receive "something good".If you were in my position, what dish would you cook with a can of Cream of Mushroom Soup?
>>22041569Why, green bean casserole, of course.Recommend fresh beans though instead of canned ones.
>>22041569Make some roasted chicken, use the mushroom soup as a sauce with some added black pepper or whatever spices you like. Add it to some bowtie noodles or whatever noodles you like
>>22041570i love greebee casseree but ideally i would like to make something that is a meal of itself. >fresh beansalso i hate blanching>>22041573i will look into how to make it a good sauce. it's fairly bland on its own. maybe if i mix with meat drippings it would become gooder
>>22041569Not sure why everyone ITT is overcomplicating things, just cook a big bowl of cream of mushroom soup??
>>22041614the stipulations for my cooperations stipulates that i MUST use the can of soup as an ingredient in a dish, NOT as a soup.
>>22041617It's an ingredient in the dish of cream of mushroom soupYou still need milk or water
>>22041617A big bowl of cream of mushroom soup with added oyster crackers. Wallah!
>>22041569>what dish would you cook with a can of Cream of Mushroom Soup1. Find a recipe that's based on bechamel sauce. That's essentially what's in that can, a bechamel sauce base that's not been thinned out and has mushrooms in it.2. Prepare the same dish with a home made bechamel. It's easy. Make a roux, hydrate it with hot liquid, and thin. Add some mushrooms.3. Throw out the can of soup in secret.
>>22041569Bake frozen fries. Pour mushroom soup over them. Cover with cheese. Put back in oven until melted. Serve on garlic bread
tuna noodle casserole
>>22041569Hash brown casserole (might know it as funeral potatoes or something like that?) and green bean casserole.
>>22041722>might know it as funeral potatoes
>>22041569stewbaked chicken and ricebeef stroganoff
>>22041602>also i hate blanchinghow? what? that’s like saying you hate breathing.
>>22041569Godbless anon has done some interesting things with cream of mushroom, I think there’s some examples in his current thread
>>22041729if we assigned number values based on effort, breathing would be 0 and blanching would be infinity
>>22041750I’m sorry for your mental and physical deficiencies, I’ll pray for you.
>>22041754preciate ya pal
>>22041754
Make a layer of burrito skins on a baking dish. Pour in mushroom soup. Add chopped up hot dogs, shredded Mexican blend cheese and frozen jalapeno poppers. Cover with tortilla chips. Top with more cheese. Melt until done.
>>22041772does this dish have a name or is it an anon original
>>22041774stoner special
>>22041772>burrito skins
>>22041569I'd make a nice pot pie
>>22041569If you're American then maybe hotdish. Most other countries would find it to be pathetic to use cans of soup in a """recipe""". For Americans, it's as good as it gets because they can't cook for shit and lack originality and verve.
>>22041891what is "hotdish"?
>>22041898egg noodles and tuna and a roux and some cheese in the oven and back out
>>22041569Just dump it on sone chicken and wala it
>>22041891Bait. No non-American knows what hotdish is. You're a (you) farming coastie.
>>22041902all the hotdish on wikimedia looks like a tater tot casserolefor some reason they also have this wikipedia hotdish they made for some wikipedia celebration..
>>22041676This sounds delicious. Doing it this weekend.
Hot Dish and Tuna Cassrole.
>>22041725It's a Mormon thing.
>>22041891This. I couldn't imagine using it in a recipe. It would just taste like the soup but with stuff added to it, it's too overpowering
>>22041674>3. Throw out the can of soup in secret. You mean keep the delicious soup for personal use
>>22041569those are luxury items here in canada
I've never used this
>>22041569Tetrazzini or chicken spaghetti as we call it in the south.
>>22042322>>22042297>It would just taste like the soup but with stuff added to ityou did a bad job of imagining it.
The other day I managed to make a can of premium soup edible with liberal use of pepper and onion powder. Not the mushroom though, that's a non-starter no matter what.
>>22042629what is "premium soup"
>>22041676i think this would be good with some nice gruyere
>>22041676i wanted to thank you, congratulate you for winning my contest. i have selected your idea. i will cook bacon and mushrooms and use the cream of mushroom and chicken stock to make a mushroom bacon gravy, and i will pour this over aged cheddar and french fries.in return for giving me such a great idea, please accept this high quality photograph of a nice romanesco.
>>22042633The ones pictured. $5/300 calories. Pretty terrible all around.
>>22042872cream of mushroom is like a dollar and nobody actually eats it as a soup
